Conduit Energy was one of the most explosive and engaging features included in the Shadowlands expansion. Right out of the gates, something I looked forward to every day was eagerly logging on to check my crystals. For hours, I would watch in real time as they… crystallized? and I was able to change my Conduits again so I could do my favorite Shadowlands content with optimal performance. I thought about it when I was at work. I thought about it during my daily routine and especially as I snacked on my favorite foods. There was nothing like a hot shower while thinking of my Conduit Energy crystals generating and going to sleep knowing how I would be using them the next day.
I found myself standing with the developers as they ignored the constant pleas to remove this feature and it felt like a moment of solidarity between them and I. When it was finally taken away, not only was I disappointed in that, I was upset to hear “the community was right” from the mouth of Ion himself. I felt betrayed. No, I was betrayed. I really enjoyed being flayed alive by this game feature because Mr. Hazzikostas wanted raiders to not be able to switch between AoE and single target conduits for specific encounters more than anything. It felt like a bad breakup.
Add this feature back. The longer it stays out of the game, the more disappointed I am as a loyal and paying customer.
Being put on hold is neither engaging nor a feature. Unless you work for a government agency and you get to put people on hold… for hours before you accidentally hang up on them so they have to start over. Then it’s fun.
It’s really sad.
First they ruined Torghast and now this…
At this point I just wonder how they’ll ruin my experience in game next. Increase the relic drop rate even more? Make Soultwining Crescent Blizzard Account Bound?
I’m not really upset… Just disappointed. Almost feeling numb at this point though.
It isn’t the foul machinations of the Jailer which tears at the very soul of the Shadowlands. Its the callous removal of features like this that make us live in an afterlife without consequence.
They may not understand you, humble frog man, but I will stand by your side.
