I, Slayer of G'huun,

Yup. We defeated the lich king, killed deathwing, beat back the burning legion - twice .... yet a couple alligators in zandalar eat us for lunch lol. At least the death loa mocks us for our untimely demise.

The next time the burning legion invades azeroth khadgar shouldnt bother wasting his time with us - just round up a gaggle of bfa gators to take them down
I have to assume OP's problem is user error. My usual WQ consists of sunfiring 7-8 mobs at a time and just blowing the lot of them straight to hell in about as many GCDs, and I only sometimes bother to even shift to boomkin form. Rares consist of popping Incarn and blowing them straight to hell in maybe 15 seconds. I never really felt particularly threatened by these mobs at any point while leveling, but no, I couldn't have wiped them out in those numbers before without at least playing very defensively.

I did notice that at least after the stat squish, after Pandaria outdoor mobs started getting more and more trivial, to the point where most stuff in Broken Isles had a third as much HP as a level 90 hozen and would disintegrate immediately if my opening move decided to crit. BFA mobs feel like actual mobs again, at least in terms of their HP pool (they still hit like limp noodles).
Don't be bad?
I've gained 30 item levels and in that 30 item levels it still takes me 4 or 5 globals to kill a quest mob. and for a melee number of globals is definitely a good measure of kill speed.

Im 379, stuff still dies as if i was a 120 in normal dungeon level gear.

Did you buy your runs?

Sure looks like it...
Pvp is suffering from the same dilemma. I equipped all ilvl 58 gear and I was doing only 30% less dmg than what I usually do despite having gear that is 300 ilvl below my average.

Really disheartening stuff and takes away any incentive to pvp.
As an Unholy DK, you don't kill anything fast at all no matter how crazy your gear is. GCD, ramp up time, dots and weak hitting abilities all contribute to your bad day.

At least when Warlocks consume GCDs there is a massive pay off for them.
I have four 120's. At fresh 120, you feel weak as heck. Once you're 340 all world mobs are trivial outside world bosses and rare mobs with 1.5m health. This has been consistent on all four toons.

The mob scaling is not one-to-one with ilvl. So anyone having a bunch of trouble at 120 is either undergeared, bad, or lying.

...I am not saying I kill things, but I'm saying the rate that I kill things has barely, if at all, changed from 330 to 365 ilvl because of how current max level scaling based on item level works. I shouldn't gear up a toon to still have to put in the same work, otherwise why gear at all?

Something is wrong on your end bud, stuff dies 30% faster, I know because I just got my mage to 350 and compared to my lock mobs die slower.

Bad example, warlocks aren't really great at instant popping anything.
Yer doing it wrong then.

Still kill the average quest mob about the same speed that I did when I first got into heroic dungeon queues.

My character has literally only gotten weaker since Legion from the perception of the world of Azeroth. My character has gone from going toe-to-toe with titans to having to take my time on trash mobs that I pass by mining. Beginning expansion weeks? This is to be expected. At a heroic raid item level? Poor game design.

hyperbole much?

Nope. Honest truth.

Nope. Honest truth.

Then you are doing something very wrong then.. especially being a DH who scales really well. The thing that hurt when being a fresh 120 was haste going down to single digits.

Maybe Demo locks, but seriously mobs melt.
I'm not having problems. Around 350 I was back to running around dotting mobs and watching them melt. Now it's even faster. Probably L2P issues.
It's only bad when you're leveling and each level your stats reduced by 20%, it's very painful to grow yet be weaker. I think it's a combination of game design and Blizzard's attempt to try and balance things.

Uh, no.

I'm 377 and everything dies in 2 hits. Are you using your abilites or just auto-attacking?
I can relate OP. It takes all the fantasy out of the RPG when you don't advance as a character with becoming stronger. Scaling should have completely stopped at a certain point. It doesn't make things interesting, it makes things tedious.
fast for me. feels good.
"Hello Highlord. I know you were busy previously wielding The Holy Ashbringer and smiting the dark Titan Sargeras but if you please, go kill these 30 Naga and 10 crabs for the tortollan people!"
