Frost dk gets a 5% buff, to compensate this buff, with chill streak already being pretty strong, it gets nerfed by 10%, this shouldnt be a problem at all, but it is. all dk players instantly start to cry saying this is a straight up nerf and haha yeah nerf fdk before fire mage! when this is actually a buff, cbad is constantly crying on stream now because his partner plays a fdk, i see why blizzard just doesnt bother to try anymore.
they are gunna whine either way but still its their game they should know what classes are doing what and what to do about it. my class base is the whiniest but im happy right now
Why nerf frost dk when ret does 25k dps throughout entire 3v3 games while healing more than healers
The devs are literally trolling at this point
i completely agree that they should make changes no matter what this terrible playerbase tells them to do, i can just kind of understand at this point why it takes them so long/why they’re so hesitant
the worst part about this specific change is that its actually only a 5% nerf. you have to factor in that chillstreak gets a 5% buff since all dk abilities get the 5%buff.
so in reality, this change was a net buff to dk.
it wasn’t a nerf, it’s an overall buff look for more than just - numbers, but yeah. ret is disgusting and needs to be addressed, same as ww.
I think DKs and even most people that arent playing DK just look at Blizzard choosing to nerf a frost DKs big damage ability as like…wait why did this get nerfed of ALL things? IMO it was much lower on the totem pole of “what needs to be fixed/nerfed” because it wasnt as OP as other abilities and Frost DKs as a whole arent at all a “problem”. It also shows that they are paying attention to abilities and PvP damage, so its perplexing as to why they nerf Chill streak yet they go as far as to BUFF Arms damage(idc if it was a PvE buff, then make the buff only apply in PvE situations), WW damage/CDs are still completely untouched, combust is still as OP as ever, Convoke change was pretty much entirely meaningless, Ret pallys can still delete someone through defensives with Divine Troll conduit etc.
That’s not how math works.
The changes this week to warrior are 100% understood to be a nerf overall. The nerf to rally opens up windows for the warrior team to lose now.
Warrior does decent damage, its true-- but that’s not why it’s chosen in a comp over another melee like ww/dk/rogue/enh. The warrior kit is built to live a long time and help their friends, and the rally nerf is a huge step backward for them.
Awww how cute and yet so naĂŻve, you really think they care about any random Joe and their QQ?
“huge step backwards” Yeah I dunno about that chief, the rally nerf isnt huge by any means, its a good change though. Something that would have been “huge” is nerfing the CD and duration of intervene. The rally nerf doesnt really change the fact that having a warrior rotating its CDs in combination with the other DPS and healer still means that your team just became FAR, FAR more difficult to land a kill on and its still far and away the best melee for peeling/helping its team live. The change literally did absolutely nothing to sway the warrior meta.
And yes, warriors are absolutely partly taken for their damage and pressure in addition to their toolkit. It does more than just “decent damage”, few specs can compete with the type of consistent, sustained damage and pressure it puts out on top of providing MS with that damage which amplifies the pressure that just its damage does. It just doesnt burst very high, which is fine and it shouldnt be able to burst super high with the type of sustained pressure it does anyway.
Demon hunter players whine more then mage or rogue??? You’ve only been around 3 expacs. You guys can’t even compete with the whines of rogues from classic.
I mean, I could edit out the word huge but its definitely a step backwards.
Warrior damage is not exceptional by and means, and probably only certain rogue specs have lower damage. Their numbers look solid at the end, precisely because they can stay in the fight longer than the others. And yea, MS is really nice, but only with Sharpen. Plain ole 25% ms is brought by several specs now.
To gut intervene completely within weeks of actually giving it to warriors would basically make it like Primal Strike, which was actually listed and promoted by Blizz as being baseline now for all shamans.
I mean, yea, its baseline. But it’s not even on my bars lol.
For sure, overall warrior has a very well-rounded kit with decent damage, good survive, and great utility to help others, along with good but not exceptional mobility. The tradeoff is that they have zero ways to heal themselves, whatsoever.
But warrior would get solid play and representation anyway, even nerfed into the ground. Nothing about them is fotm-- they have probably been the most represented class in pvp (along with mages) since vanilla, and will always be popular.
Them nerfing Chill Streak in that patch showed that they were choosing to make PvP specific changes, yet Hpal/Fmage/Ret/WW/War/Moonkin were all untouched and objectively WAY better, more oppressive classes.
Basically it shows that the company is a meme. And not a very funny one at that.
You guys want to argue over if this is a nerf or not. Clearly it is a nerf to Chill streak. Why nerf Chill streak when DT, TV, SS, Combust pyro, and RSK all do way to much damage and pretty much have no counter play outside of don’t get close enough for them to use it.
I completely agree 100%. It’s a very strange nerf when there are currently much more absurd outliers.
the devs need their weekly 1400 win on their fotm mains
ngl wouldn’t shock me if they had some data that suggested that when they nerf peoples classes they get an influx of people quitting and a lack of people returning from buffed classes.
Take this little thought experiment,
lets say they nerfed holy pally, and buffed MWer monk, would more holy paladins quit the game than mistweavers return to the game?
Im pretty sure more hpals would quit than mistweavers return, mostly because people dont wanna have to catch-up and everything.
But the thing is that like 70% of the holy pallies are actually the MW, rdruids, rshams, etc.
It’s not like its a magical subset of ride-or-die paladin only’s. All the healer mains are left with go disc/hpal or get left in the dust. So they swapped.
[edit: although I completely agree that they do probably have stats that show them whether its better for the bottom line to buff, or to nerf. And yea, for many of us-- once we’re gone, we’re not back until late pre-patch for the next one.]
Thats a fair take, but I counter with this, how many of those 70% would actually, regear, annddd re-grind torghast, anddd regrind renoun levels, annndddd regrind sockets, maybe even grind out some legendries too depending on where they drop from.
A real major drawback of all these systems blizzard has in game nowadays. Used to be just pretty much re-gear a toon, now its much much more.
