I ripped someone’s key … suggestions

I was pugging and saw a bnet friend who I played with last expansion had a key up, an 8 grim. Probably because we pugged mythic raid before he took me. We don’t know each other other than that. I know he wouldn’t have taken me other than being bnet as this was the first 8 I was accepted in. I can barely get into 6 keys invites. Anyways I die on the second boss, no problem we carry on. Right before the last boss I dc, log in and dc again. I’m able to type “sorry dc back” before my laptop completely froze and locked up. I had to take out the laptop battery (unscrewed back) to get it to reset. When I finally log back in at least ten minutes later they have completed the key (impressive right) but of course I had ripped the timer because I dc’ed. I messaged the guy that I was sorry and dced and sorry for ripping his key. He was cool and said he figured I had dced as he did as well but was able to log in again.

I felt so bad, I probably won’t ever join one of his keys again, nor would I expect him to invite me back after ripping his 8.

I was thinking I could maybe send him some flasks or some potions by in game mail with another sorry buddy.

Any other suggestions as consolation for ripping his 8?

Nice plantation style mansion in the Keys would probably do it

It happens. Not a big deal.

The fact that you reached out and explained I think he would take you again, I mean I would I’ve had issues with DC before.

It happens and you can usually tell when it’s accidentally

Nobody reasonable cares about ripping keys. The higher you go the more you deplete. It happens. If someone can’t deal with bricked keys they probably aren’t pushing very high.

Stuff happens, anyone who is sensible would understand that. Could always ask if this person wanted to join one of your keys when you create one. If you think sending flasks or something is the right way I would just send it, I would probably send them back and tell you is no big deal but thanks.

Dude, it’s not like you did it on purpose, $#!+ happens to everyone.

Just tell him you didn’t mean to screw up his key, apologize and move on.

Last thing you should care about is people’s feelings in keys.

I burn 3 keys a day. My suggestion is to send him a “Lol sux”

If they are a cool person they wont mind. I used to have terrible internet issues and that kind of stuff happened all the time. If you really want to then really anything you send, pots flasks food, would be appreciated and show that you are sorry. But dont feel pressured to do so. Stuff happens and reasonable people understand that.

You can make it up to him by inviting him to your +8 key (or higher).

You already said you were sorry, it was something out of your control and there is nothing really you need to do about it.

If you are running keys tonight and are interested, perhaps I can help you with a +8 so you get a +8 key tomorrow to make it up to him.

Just let it go. Sometimes things happen beyond your control at the worst times.
