This is pretty fun in general. I would like to see a rework. Af lock used to be the most punishing spec in the game where missing one UA would screw your dps for 10 seconds. Now that it is fixed in 10.1.5, ww monk is the new why do I need to ramp so many hit combo stacks spec.
I think most of us put more thought and effort into decent thematic abilities than the devs do.
They’re too busy balancing PI the spec for 10.1.5.
There’s definitely some fun ideas in there, I like the golden lotus concept. It’s a shame that blizzard doesn’t actually look at these types of things and at the very least talk amongst themselves about it.
It looks pretty great! I love the integration of CJL into the jade statue and the revamp of the tiger statue. I love something constant like that that can be moved around to do damage into locations at once … makes it more interesting and interactive with higher reward potential for using it effectively.
Here’s an idea I have for monk group utility.
Keg of Plenty:
Drop a keg that party/raid members can click to gain a tea/brew useful to their role. Last five minutes.
Healer: Lesser Mana Tea
Reduce the mana cost of spells by 25% for 10 secs. 1.5 min cd 2 charges.
Tank: Lesser Fortifying Brew
Turn your skin to stone, increasing your current and max hp by 5% and reducing all damage you take by 10% for 10 sec. 1.5 min cd 2 charges
Dps: Tiger Brew
Crackle with the lighting of Xuen. All damaging spells and abilities deal an extra 5% nature damage for 10 sec. 1.5 min cd 2 charges.
Or they could do a lesser Healing Elixir. But that might infringe on warlock cookies too much.
All numbers are subject to appropriate tuning.
Gonna keep sharing it. I think it would help our class greatly.
Lmao 40yd range on rsk and bok. It better look like dhalsim from street fighter my leg streching from one pillar to the other.
There is some cool stuff in there like the statues and Golden Lotus. I only wish Blizz cared as much about our monks as it is clear folks posting in here do.
It’s sad that the only change Blizz has made that would help monks has been unintentional. (The psuedo-cap for gear from M+ being lowered to 16’s means that players can more freely play specs that aren’t wanted for 20’s without worrying that they are hurting their raid by not being able to get the best gear.)
Or a good old fashioned Hadouken!
That’s something that should be considered for every class and their talents. Is it fun? I am still surprised at the existence of so many bland or cumbersome talents. Blizzard has repeatedly said they want to move away from that but have shown mixed results.
I mean Dhalsim was 100% a monk, we should build the class around him, I agree
