On ERA I found plenty of MC/BWL that werent GDKPs on Mankrik cluster because alts exist and they can take years to gear new alts.

It’s the reason I don’t play Classic Era, btw. If you don’t buy gold…there’s no point, thanks to GDKPs.

Non GDKP guilds exist on whitemane but getting their attention to join one is like talking to a brick wall. Even if you are whispering their officers DIRECTLY WITH NO WORD BACK…

So did I once upon a time. That’s why I asked if they still existed lol. If you’re not part of the guild by this point you’re not gonna be and they’re not gonna replace a dedicated member in a raid with some random plebeian they found off the street the day before.

You’re defending the ban when you’ve gone out of your way to put down the token in the past, namely in Wrath, which I adamantly defended.
At least with my token solution, it tries to satisfy almost everyone without needing to ban GDKP.
On cata classic atleast regular guilds that raid are even beginning to use gdkp because its difficult to recruit people as so many people would rather just go do gdkp and get paid and not have to roll for items just bid gold.
No swiping, just adding some numbers and a couple of clicks. It’s 2024, after all
Why? Why in the bloody hell would you defend something so egregious as the WoW token? I’m sorry but no, the WoW Token did not satisfy everyone. In fact most people still went through third party RMT sites because you got more for less from them. The WoW token was nothing more than Blizzard getting a piece of that action. It wasn’t them introducing a solution, it was them making the problem worse.
Most GDKP leaders directly sell gold to people who run out of money in their GDKP’s. They even tell you when you join that if you feel you’re short on gold before the GDKP starts to hit up the GDKP host, and when you do they’ll link you their Paypal or Venmo or whatever.
Let’s not forget also that GDKP is just a way for people to get gear they didn’t earn. That’s why nobody on era servers does PvP and why queues for WSG are in the 30 minute or more range. Nobody is going into BG’s with their GDKP gear because they know they absolutely, positively suck because they didn’t put any effort into earning it and are afraid they’ll be humiliated in a BG by someone who actually has.
I feel like LFG promotes running content with 0 interaction. This is a BIG reason why I cant get into modern WoW.
Yeah but this isn’t the LFG tool we have in retail. This one still requires you manually look for groups/post your listings. The only thing it does is cut out the LFG spam in chat.

Nobody does BGs on the 20s, 30s, and to some extent, the 50s brackets.

I’ve never understood why people think the interaction of sending someone a /w inv is the make or break of the social value in the game. Once you’re in the group, that’s when the social stuff should be starting. The LFG tool just puts you together minus the /w inv.

Because you have to be social enough to reach out and get the invite. If all you have to do is click a button that says you want to run a dungeon, you literally never have to interact. And it promotes that behavior.
I just don’t see it. People advertise a need in LFG, then you send a /w inv. That’s it. I don’t see how sacrificing that one interaction is detrimental. But to each their own.
And like I told you on the other thread where you admitted you used the wow token to RMT, you have more money then sense. You’re so unbelievably spoiled you can’t even begin to possibly see it from the other side. Dropping 1,000 USD to get some raid gear for you is no different than a regular person getting it for free. So while I can’t say your statements are invalid since you are EXACTLY the type of person GDKP’s are meant for, I can say that it means NOTHING you say should ever be taken seriously.
Yeah, if you remember how the LFG tool worked in Wrath Classic, that’s exactly how it will work in Fresh Fresh.
