I regret not copying my main to Era, but:

When i log onto Era it brings me to Cata Classic?
My gf is getting into WoW classic Anniversary with me starting this week. However after looking at the insanely fast roadmap, i am starting to think her and I will hop over to Era.
Is era still heathly to start over fresh and find people that just enjoy the Era version of the game pre-TBC? Would it be possible to progress through the raid content at least up to ZG AQ?

EDIT: faction doesn’t matter. My gf leans towards Ally though.

Haven’t logged into era in awhile. Before Fresh I was having trouble finding groups for level 50-60 dungeons even unfortunately so I feel the leveling may be a complete ghost town

I’m curious about this as well. If Anniversary servers plan to progress past WotLK, then I’d rather just roll on Era instead so I know I’ll still be in classic even after taking a break.

Yes. Roll on Whitemane, there are some nice guilds progressing through Naxx, plenty of people playing.

Well the hope is that anniversary will have the option to move your character to Era once it ends but there has been no confirmation of that yet.

I think the leveling on Anniversary is probably better since youll be able to find groups for 5 mans easier.

The raiding scene in Era is still very active with many of the raids being run as GDKP. There are still some SR raids you can find as well so its really up to you.

If they allow character transfers id say its best to start on anniversary and then continue your characters on Era. Hopefully they announce this no brainer decision soon.

it is against ToS to do GDKP now

wrong again

I personally don’t mind starting fresh! As some one who grew up with retail only, i prefer this version of the game. It actually has RPG elements and feels more immersive than retail.

Thanks for the reply!! I’ll have to talk to my gf and give her the scoop!!!

Not in era

Your launcher should have a drop down option above the play button that says “launch into”. Yours might be set to Cata and your wife to Anniversary. You can change that.

I heard the Era population is picking back up. I would recommend going there over Fresh if that’s where you want to end up. There has been no official communication whether Fresh will get the option to move to Era but there has been confirmation it will progress to TBC.

Man I am starting to feel the same, but personally, I am pretty mad at blizz. I wanted permanent wrath era so badly. More than anything else. But they refuse to do so.

And I honestly didn’t want vanilla as badly, and that’s why I never cloned over. I had cash in hand to clone to permanent wrath era servers. But nooooooo. Blizz doesn’t like me. Maybe I will get into era again. Specially if whitemane has action.

Yes absolutely, so long as you pick one of the more popular clusters (mankrik for PvE, whitemane for PvP). Worldbuffs are still dropping daily and all raid content is still being cleared by multiple guilds of various skill levels (from veteran to casual). Lots of guilds are still recruiting and would welcome any new members that are active players.

Easily. You could assure your spot by joining a guild that you vibe with, but it’s also more than possible to PuG your way to pre-bis in dungeons and then also keep joining raids as a PuG through the LookingForGroup channel.

yup, both whitemane and mankrik clusters have a healthy amount of people leveling. to me it’s just enough to feel like the server isn’t dead. and questing is very pleasant, no need to worry about 10 people trying to tag 1 quest mob :expressionless:

i think it’s foolhardy to expect your anniversary character to get a freebie transfer to era :expressionless: maybe they will, maybe they won’t. only guarantee is to level on era.

I would gladly pay to transfer like 50 toons to permanent wrath era lol. Blizz wont listen to me.

Seems the only consistent servers are SoD NA west.
And Dreamscythe. I’ll probably plod away on SoD as well as what ever these servers will become. Its actually fun. Think of it as Classic with a touch of cata and less the world destruction.

Yah I was never a fan of classic + or classic SOD.

nor I but a few things have changed and it empowered gatherers/ crafters even one dealing in copper and peacebloom. The rep and rune stuff I just ignore I’m afraid. XP boost atm too, I’ll find something else to consume my game time most likely but its different enough for a few hours at whim.
Same sub right.

I know Whitemane Server is healthy, lots of stuff going on in the world, not over crowded and we do not have layers so what you see is what really exists.

There are raids from ZG to Naxx and if you’re a raid enjoyer then you an do all of them every week if you really want.

Do not be afraid of GDKP runs (gold dkp), there is no requirment to buy gold, and you can actually do decently in ZG GDKP runs and make between 300 and 700 gold on average (I have now done a total of 6 GDKP) raids ever.

Battlegrounds do pop if you’re intrested, right now Horde is faster Q’s for them, the BG’s that presently pop are WSG and AB with WSG being the most common and AB happening on AB weekends.

Leveling in world is pleasant with not a ton of competition for herbs and minerals or mobs, but there is competition occasionally. The population “Feels” like a high pop OG Vanilla realm.

If you want a PVE realm I know that Mankirk PVE is good also, but you will have to go see and talk to them to find out more details, I can only detail Whitemane cluster for you.

Additionally if you want a ultra small population server that’s also RP and PVP then Grobbulus is also there, they’re really fun people on grob also.
