If BC drops across all Classic servers, I am out. I will remain out until there are Vanilla Classic Forever Servers.
I loved BC. I loved Wrath. I bought the friggin Celestial Steed (it had such a convenience factor when it first hit). I don’t WANT to replay BC or Wrath, though.
Please, oh please, mark just a couple of exceptions that will be Vanilla Forever. It can even come with a full-on reset if you want. I just want to play Vanilla Classic.
In all seriousness… Pretty sure every indication has been that this will be the case so not entirely sure what you’re crusading against.
Exactly this ^^^^ (Thanks again for not killing me in Felwood the other day. Much obliged. Sorry the shoe faction are jerks and ruined yalls buff train)
I’ve been thinking lately that it might be better (for me) to just roll a fresh new character when TBC Classic drops, and leave my WoW Classic characters forever in WoW Classic, so I can finish up whatever I wanted to do with them in WoW Classic, and have them preserved that way.
Depends on how they do it. If it’s transfer or stay then it’ll be an interesting decision for sure. If its a one-time copy, I’d almost surely stick with one of my existing characters (unless I decide to pick up Sham I suppose)
That’s OK and I wouldn’t stop you from doing just that.
I just want to be frozen in Vanilla Forever.
Neither of our goals should be that impossible. It shouldn’t take post-BC transfers. A little bit of planning would go a long way and allow us to prepare.
One time COPY not transfer seems like the best option. If you make it a transfer, most Classic servers are gonna be gutted overnight and you’ll have to almost immediately start merges or raiding etc just wont be possible on any but the biggest servers (which will lead to more transfers off.)
Its quite possible they’ll have to merge down the road anyway, but if my Classic character still existed on it’s current server I could at least see coming back and screwing around occasionally just for kicks even if I’m not one of the ones playing it “exclusively,” which should held extend the longevity of the product quite a bit.
That said… copying would be tricky because of duping exploits and I’m not entirely sure how they prevent that without causing other issues
Yeah, and of course I have my own preferences and opinions on how I think they should roll out a TBC Classic, just like everyone else seems to
I hope that they do something like what they have with Diablo II and Diablo II LoD, where you can roll a D2 character, and upgrade to the expansion at any time, if you’d like.
In D2, they have far fewer servers, but the idea is the same. If you’re on US West 1, and upgrade from D2 to D2 LoD, you’re on US West 1. If they did something like this, then they could roll out the upgrade servers on the TBC pre-patch, and those who wanted their characters (or some of their characters) to upgrade to TBC could do so, and play through the pre-patch, then eventually TBC Classic.
This way, you could also upgrade a WoW Classic character to TBC Classic at any time in the future.
I don’t understand those that want Phase 6 forever. What do you think you will achieve? There’s a reason why private servers go fresh or progress to TBC after a few months on Naxx.
If Blizzard doesn’t have a “Classic Vanilla” server then the people who want that and do not want to play TBC will go back to private Vanilla servers. That’s just the way it is. So if Blizzard wants to keep subs they will have one “Classic Vanilla” server at least. Fresh or continuation. I think they are planning for this anyway.
I want Blizzard to have at least one Classic continuation server and one Fresh Classic server. I don’t care either way about the copy/transfer thing and when I’ve talked about progressing servers people get mad so I won’t talk about that.
IMO people should also be able to progress to TBC or start fresh on TBC (maybe
some fresh TBC servers where it’s only fresh roll for 90 days or something).
Do I expect Blizzard to do these 4 things? Absolutely not. I believe in choice though.
I highly doubt Classic + is happening unless it’s 4 years in the future.
A handful of people on these forums also get triggered at the thought of forever phase 6 servers. Like who cares what you think if you’re progressing to TBC? I don’t get why this upsets people. Being nasty to people about this is really immature if it doesn’t affect you.
