Im trying to get back into the game. I am nowhere near getting flying and i really really hate both the layout and world quests in this zone. IT is so new player unfriendly. The verticality would be fine if i could fly but having to guess where in the world the quest objective is because there are like 3 - 4 levels and no seemingly easy way to get up or down. And dont get me started on the stupid scale starfish which is at this point a mythical f*cking object… / end rant. Just blizzard please dont make something like this ever again of if u do just making flying in this zone free.
Strange how thousands of players navigated that zone on the ground well enough to get pathfinder done, without complaint.
They “just did it”.
You can too, or not, your choice.
I actually rather like Nazjatar. I think aesthetically it’s gorgeous, and while navigating it is annoying, it makes getting flight that much sweeter. I’d love to see an actual subterranean zone at some point, but this is as close as we’ll likely get.
what are you talking about. I’m on this forum every day and every day since 8.2. people saying how they are hate nazjatar.
OK. So you are not one of those thousands I refer to.
I’m one of your thousands and I didn’t even really notice the terrain difficulties in Nazatar - no more than Any Other Zone in the game. And this is a stubborn player who will try to climb the un-climbable cliff to a quest objective over and over until something distracts me and I run off in that direction. >_<
Every zone has its terrain difficulties but dammit, go around! (talking to myself here). Use the taxis and whistle, that’s what they’re for when you’re a pedestrian.
It gets better as you learn the zone and paths and spawn points, but I agree that before flying and while I was a little undergeared, I found it a real slog to get around or accidentally wander into the wrong cave.
(and yes the starfish are much, much easier to spot from the air)
That said, I’m very glad we do get flying here. This is a first for a .x patch island landmass (if you don’t count Tanaan) and it is appreciated.
Just like they pay taxes!
Just as they undergo dental treatments for extraction!
Just like they do their divorces!
Hm, does Deepholm not count as subterranean? I think it’s really cool personally.
nazjatar is garbage
Oh it was not without complaint, I assure you. The zone didn’t go over any better in gchat than it did in the forums.
lol

I complained constantly.
I finished pathfinder and I hated it…especially Nazjatar.
I actually love Nazjatar, at its most basic level. The look and feel.
But I am with you otherwise. Flying is a must-have to make it enjoyable and a lot of people do not want to do pathfinder. Rightfully so.
So Blizzard stepped on their own toes with how they went about getting flying in Nazjatar. They took a beautiful place that is infuriating without flying, and made you have to grind it for weeks to gain flying, only to not go back ever again.
Very poor gameplay design, but intentionally poor. They do not care about enjoyment, just exploitation.
All the people who say “Just finish pathfinder” are sheep. Blizzard has them played like a fiddle.
I’ll throw my hat in with the bunch that liked Nazjatar even before flying. I really enjoyed multi-layered design and loved the beautiful visuals. I also liked the quests and overall story…
Sort of yes, sort of no. I like Deepholm but I keep seeing maps of a Nerubian zone that looked stellar. That’s more what I want, haha.
I prefer Nazjatar to Mechagon. I had to force myself to do it for pathfinder.
Me too. A basically flat zone overfilled with mobs is not fun. Jetpack was cool but kept getting targeted so had to do that touch-and-go maneuver a lot (touch down and get aggro, lift off and get aggro).
I really don’t like that zone. Flying doesn’t really help -I find myself going the long way around the shoreline to avoid flying robots.
Should work on the last drop mount there but no hurry. Got other things to do.
I don’t disagree. But even with flying I’m bonking my head trying to get out of the great coral reef that is the naga area.
