I really need help...shaman or druid

I am having such a hard time deciding. I have a 15 druid, 9 shaman. End game-maybe some MC and ony, but primarily PvP with friends will be my main focus. Both classes have so much appeal. Any insight and pros/cons would be greatly appreciated in this decision lol. Thanks all!

Go Shammy, you’ll have more fun*

*This is a purely subjective opinion coming from someone who has never made it past level 8 as a Druid because I find everything about them more boring than butter on white bread.

haha fair enough!

my only worry with shaman, is the amount of auto attacking as enhance, just dropped my 25 warrior cuz I couldn’t take it anymore. But the totems are so appealing.

I still don’t know what this means

Well… what I normally say is that people should play what they find most entertaining. But as for what I would do? Shaman all the way. The combination of higher-quality armor in mail, big two-handed axes, the variety offered by totems, and the amazing damage and utility of shaman spells makes them the no brainer choice for me. That being said, Druids do have a very unique class aesthetic, playing off of other classes’ strengths via their being a hybrid. Their skill cap in PvP can be very high though.

Do you enjoy anything other than melee?

Assuming you’d be healing with either one in pvp, Druid.

You really can’t go wrong either way though.

If druid, PvP would likely be flag capping

I am in the same boat… druid is 14 shaman is 15… lol I keep flip flopping…
leaning more towards shaman tho, the draw of windfury 2h 1 shots is just too appealing… and is overriding my common sense… knowing that all shaman is in endgame is totem bots lol.

that and tanking with pugs is pretty much pure cancer.

my only concern with enhance is getting kited endlessly, ugh

There is a lot of auto attack yes, but it’s so much better than sitting there waiting for rage to build like you do when leveling warrior.

You get Storm Strike as an instant, you have your shocks, you have your totems. You have basically, a whole lot of buttons you can press. Warriors don’t.

Hell if you really want, you can just level Elemental until you’re 60 and have your full toolkit to play with. Going Elemental also means you don’t have to maintain a second set of gear while leveling and want to heal a dungeon or something.

The fact that you bring a Windfury Totem to the table basically ensures you will ALWAYS be in demand for dungeon runs, and eventually raids.

What spec do you plan on being with each at cap. Respeccing is very expensive

hmmm…very true-this is driving me nuts, I love and hate being so attached to 1 character LOL.

I mained a shaman (Alliance) from TBC through BoA and this time, in Classic, I’m maining a druid.

One thing that appealed to me about Shaman, as a caster, is that you’re a turret. I like that play style, others don’t.

Honestly, with shaman, prolly ele/resto hybrid (so I can do PvP and PvE without many respecs). Druid, likely a resto hybrid for healing PvE and flag capping PvP.

The funny thing is, the “turret” play style wasn’t even all that viable in Vanilla. They made some big changes to the elemental tree that really helped it out, but those changes aren’t in Classic. It’s just a whole lot of Lightning Bolt spam unfortunately.

Shaman will have more utility in PvP, unless you enjoy spamming wsg. 1 or 2 druids is always good to have in wsg. Shaman, regardless of their spec, will always find a welcome spot in pvp.

Druid brings stealth, the best movement in the game, self heals, some tankiness, stuns, big group heals, lots of instant casts, battle Rez, and I’m sure more that I’m forgetting, and learning to utilize it all in any given situation is a never ending and very rewarding journey.

Then play shaman
you get a proper rez and you can actually kill things unlike resto druid
