Assuming Ion thought of it or at least gave it the green light, he should never be involved with game development again.

I really like the corruption system.
What i don’t like is the acquisition. too many layers of rng to get the ones you want on the gear you want.
it would be better if it was like an enchant or upgrade from a shady vendor.
they could charge you some currency to apply the one of your choice at the rank of your choice. rank 1 would be cheapest and rank 3 would cost 3x as much as rank 1.
Yeah but even then corruption completely changed the gameplay. Everything just falls over now.
Feel like corruptions are fun.
But the way in which you obtain them sucks. Same thing for azerite traits

what others said. the system itself is great - the looting and participating system is the problem.
I am getting annoyed with it. They nerfed Enchanting and armor kits etc claiming they didn’t want players to feel like they had to leave group/raid to get an item to make armor worth wearing. Well now every single item dropping can end up either needing cleansed or another item your wearing cleansed to make it worth wearing.
Why would I hate it?
It’s raining with Corrupted Gear on me. Now, that Horrific Vision run guarantee a Corrupted gear and Mythic+ Weekly Cache has a guarantee too to proc a Corrupted gear, there’s Corrupted Gear almost everywhere.
I just got Infinite Stars Rank 3 just to be disappointed becoz my Racing Pulse rank 3 plus Deadly Momentum Rank 3 with fewer Corruptions outdps the almighty Infinite Stars that everyone is dreaming of.
I am having fun right now with my max Corruption Resistance of 63. and having a blast on playing numerous Corrupted Gear combo.
I have:
- Deadly Momentum Rank 3 and Rank 1
- Honed Mind Rank 3 and Rank 1
- Racing Pulse Rank 3 x 2
- Twilight Devastation Rank 3 x 2
- Whispering Truth from weapon
- Echoing Void Rank 3 and Rank 1
- Void Ritual Rank 2
- Infinite Star Rank 3
And there are more Corruptions that I purged becoz there’s too many on me. It’s raining with Corrupted Gear.
And I would have more next week when I start to do 2-Masked, 3-Masked, 4-Masked and 5-Masked runs.
I despise the corruption system.
They took out WF/TF to give us something worse. Nothing better than holding on to 50 pieces of gear and have to constantly sim to see what’s better. At least before, you could make an educated guess on most of your pieces.
This system runs you through so many levels of RNG to get a piece that you want. Even when you get that piece, you still have to put up with the side effects that are not fun.
If you want to put out any sort of competitive damage, you’re pretty much forced to run in 40-59 range (if not higher) and not all classes can deal with the side effects equally.
Not to mention that it turns your transmogs to garbage. I wish they’d remove it completely and never do something similar.

It truly is one of the worst ideas I’ve ever seen implemented into a game. Besides azerite armor.

OMG, I hate it too! As if they haven’t made things difficult enough already, now our own armor wants to kill us. I really enjoyed this expansion, until they introduced the whole N’Zoth thing. In Uldum you are now attacked from above and below. And in Valley of Eternal Blossoms, you are constantly being slowed down by those #*&! worms. Makes it very difficult to get to the Rares being called in time. And then they added sadistic corrupted gear. Good Lloyd. I am just a hard core casual solo player, and maybe it’s just me, but it seems like they are making the game harder and harder to play. Seems as if, in trying to make everyone happy, they have swung from too easy for the casuals, to too hard for the elites. I hate, loath and despise the corrupted gear and really hope it goes away in the next expansion.
