They just changed their mind about making the move right then and there. They are considering their options. In all likelihood, they wanted to see where theyâre at with data after season 1 started.
You can call this a conclusive rejection of the idea all you want, but itâs just blind hope.
The mere fact they were set on making the change illustrates theyâre aware of a problem that needs correcting.
Well to be fair there isnât really any âcasualâ guilds.
People often claim there are but what they really are is typically a group of core players who all played with one another for years, or know each other IRL. They play with you when youâre all on together but in about a span of 2-6 weeks the guild will be defunct and youâre still out in the cold.
So people telling others to find âLike-minded playersâ are literally the definition of walking privilege.
Considering their last great debate lasted all of three hours in a single afternoon, I think theyâll wait and see how player metrics drop off before revisiting the topic.
Iâm not trying to be rude [me pointing it out ahead of time], itâs just people who try saying [you are best off doing this, or that, ⌠] it never is listened to. People have issues with the content, not all people. Just like some like DF so far, but not âmajorityâ.
And complain about mob tagging⌠lazy elemental storms or w.e⌠hunts that are also all over the place⌠gold making with professions is niche and professions in general are not without big issues. Orders under used on a lot of the servers Iâm on.
Drip fed things on very basically done content that has little replay ability or is not well fleshed out.
No one said they canât have anything nice. Thereâs actually a lot of nice things they can get. They just canât get the best items the game has to offer without doing the required content. Idk why this is hard to understand.
As mostly a solo player for last five years. I want player housing, better character creation eg body sliders, follower missions, bodyguards that can come with us to any expansion. They add that and I would most likely stay subbed.
I agree 110%. Definitely is more clique-y and even some top end players have said finding that one guild you do everything with etc is not that frequent. [I mention top end players cause they have gone through alot of trial and error thru the years in guilds, people they played with etc]
The rest requires a lot of time and sifting through the guilds etc.
I tried when I started in Legion and after a few times, and pugs that had people rage on others and never getting anywhere. I kinda swore all that off unfortunately.
Well Top-End players have it a bit easier I find because thereâs a set standard of the content youâre doing. In essence itâs like Free Agents in a Pro League. They know what theyâre there to do and thereâs a demand for them within a community.
Learning communities just donât seem like a thing and almost all the ones Iâve seen suggested are rather transitory so one day you could be in an awesome guild, community, or discord, and the next day most of the people are gone because well they decided to move on from the game instead of making a home there.
Kinda the issue with causal players is that historically speaking thereâs not a massive amount of them any more (unlike compared to Vanilla - Wrath ) days so thereâs less likely of a chance to meet up with other players. So instead the only stationary group thatâs around are the competitive players, and frankly as demonstrated in this thread, who would want to play with them.
Example: Your choices are have a nice drink with this good group of people but understand itâs temporary, or go down at the end of the bar and drink with the people who are mean drunks but you can stay there as long as you meet their standards.
Most people would opt to go to a different bar.
I dunnoâŚI just think that WoW in general has become so wonked nobody knows what they want anymore, I mean we are left with a Furrie Arcade game instead of a MMO itâs undoubtedly not a MMORPG
I mean when you can get a better story experience from BDO, you know the game has lost itâs way. WoW has had itâs time⌠it could have offered Raiders PVPers and Overland players compelling experiences, instead it pitted each group against each other and we are left with a complete joke of an Arcade game.
Metzen coming back isnât going to save this game itâs too far gone.
I think that the new Arenanet MMO, maybe the Riot MMO will have some successâŚthen we have several co-op RPGâs that will steal a lot of MMO players away coming down the pike.
WoW is like listening to 50âs music when everyone else is listening to MetalâŚitâs sad but that is where itâs all headingâŚand Blizzardâs survival game wonât be any betterâŚhell it probably wonât even see the light of day.

As a casual non-raider back in Vanilla, I donât know how anyone would have conjured up that complaint.
At level cap, the things to do in the open world over and over again in Vanilla:
- mine or herb forever for gold
- collect dirt in Unâgoro for the night elf rep turn-in
- kill furbolgs
- work on reps for Darkmoon Faire and the Wildhammer dwarves only to watch Blizzard delete the reps from the game only to bring them back later for us to redo from scratch
The focus of their attention was clearly the people sitting around Ironforge waiting for their Molten Core group to form.
Yeah I played in vanilla, too.
Objectively, someone saying that was talking pure trash, of course.
But in reality people did say stuff like that because at the time and in the MMO context, WoW was viewed by the existing elite MMO playerbase as being way, way too casual-oriented, casual-friendly, and so on. I remember a month or so in reading posts from the first wave of folks to reach the level cap (EQ players most of them) saying that WoW was âWorld of Casualcraftâ and that ânobody will be playing this crap game in six months, it has no staying power, thatâs what happens when you make a game around casualsâ, and so on.
Of course that was laughably incorrect given what happened with the game, but at the time the HC community, the â1337 rayd0rzâ of the time, were always casting a very skeptical eye at Blizzard, waiting for Blizzard to dumb things down, to make it casual-accessible, to let the unwashed peons access content they had no right to access! And so on.
This was a major vibe in WoW at the time, and itâs because WoW was the first MMO that tried to appeal to casual players at all, even though, of course, vanilla WoW was, by later standards (and certainly by todayâs standards) incredibly unfriendly to casual players. Context is everything.
One thing and one thing only I liked about Shadowlands was the covenant set, it gave tier like set bonuses for the open world. Thatâs what I would like as a mainly solo player. With the option to upgrade through out the expansion. Or each patch give another set through the different renown groups.
Blizz needs to decide if this is a business that they want to retain customers or a sports club where they want to retain only the best players.
But its scheduled on casual fridays so that makes it ok.
They obviously want it all.
A fair portion of the population regard happiness as a sin. Only fear, anger, and hatred are valid emotions. It doesnât help that fear, anger, and hatred make a person high.
So, in my opinion, we see a lot of addicts feeding their habit on WoW and here on the forums.
