I really don't understand what Solo players want

so collecting treasure that is basically the same activity as gathering.

key farming for rep…I mean I guess? not really any difference than farming rep in older xpacs, just mindless killing mobs, no real challenge or engagement.

hunts is done in less than a day, problably in like 1 hour for the week

is it good content? that is for each one to decide, like I said im pretty happy with the xpac but I can understand people who want or expected better solo content, the reason I`m leveling alts instead of playing my main is because I cant take hours and hours of farming keys or flying around collecting the dots on the map, it gets repetitive and not really enganging, I would love any torghast/mage tower content where I could challenge myself without having to worry about group play

I started paying attention in MoP but you are probably correct it started long before then.

Because you have a option to have dailies every day and you won’t do it.

I think players on this forum are understating how big of a problem this is. Ion literally gave 3 interviews with different streamers where he acknowledges this. The most recent Preach interview he literally stated they were underservicing open world players, and that the gap between BiS and everything else was far too large.

They know the numbers. They have their community managers scourer their forums, MMO-C, Reddit, and Twitter and they see the same trend. For them to bring this up publicly is a tacit admission that solo and casual players were right.

I work in Sales creating narratives is my specialty. Normally you don’t admit to something unless you have to, or you cannot deny what is apparent. I’m totally willing to believe that Ion and his team saw the negative responses from casual players, then couple that with Asmon/Bellular basically hitting them everyday for a year about casual players, ya they decided to talk about what’s wrong.

But this still I think has yet to be fixed, I think when they were designing this expansion while SL was active they were very very cautious on how to handle this. Like I said before we cannot sit here and deny this anymore or gaslight eachother into thinking it’s not a problem. The head of the game and their team have let out publicly that it is a problem. Lets see how they develop the game from here and try to fix it.

It’s none of your business to ask this question. You are ONE person and don’t speak for all of the solo players in this game.

They’re just expressing their personal opinion, which they are entitled to do. Feel free to express yours. Or don’t. That’s the beauty of it.

Because you barely play the game compared to others that play solo. The only troll here is you for to believe that everyone else plays as least as you do.

Are you implying you know the right way to play this game solo?

If they wanted to know what solo players wanted - they could have just read the threads instead of telling others they were playing wrong.

Where do I have the ability to have the other activities available in WQs repeatable every day now? Rock climbing, cataloging, flying quests? Once you do them they’re gone until they reset next.

And don’t give me the alt nonsnse. For me it’s just tedious repetition of something I’ve just done, we’re not even a month in, there shouldn’t be this little variety of stuff to do.

Would be nice if that person wasn’t so quick to emphatically state how anyone who disagrees with them is WRONG WRONG WRONG

The solution is to make raiding and the highest gear progression an open world “solo” activity – that is, world bosses. Make a pug on the spot and fail. Fail over and over again until you start learning the mechanics and make a group with others who get it. Then fail there on the later stages. Over and over until you remake a group and fully understand it and then win.

This circumnavigates raid gatekeeping, and spares people from the abusive nature of those set ups. It adds more open world content, and increased interest in raid like fights.

The way raids are done now should go away. Those resources should be put into open world content like this, and a lot of other kinds of OW content.

They can keep making raids as is, and cater to a very small percentage of people. But it’s a waste of money and resources. They wouldn’t have this admitted problem if they figured this out already.

Actually, we have weekly casuals meetings but you arent invited. You keep on eating up all of the rice crispy treats.

Sounds elitist.

A Solo player doesn’t mean the same as a casual player. The people that have spent time in this game every day already have run out of things to do as a solo player. Just because you play solo and casually doesn’t mean all solo players play this way. By stating that any that has more hours in the game than you and has already run out of content are just trolls, then you are actually the biggest troll of them all.

Touch a nerve? I can ask what I want, it is what the forum is for. Calm down.

A Solo player doesn’t mean the same as a casual player.

Casual player doesn’t have an agreed-upon definition, but most people believe it to mean “avoids harder content”. Mike on Twitter: “What does a ‘casual’ player mean?” / Twitter

Well, the hardest content is the end-game group content like high M+ keys and mythic raiding. And it’s kind of implied that a solo player, like casual players, is someone who doesn’t do this group content.

So if “casual” and “solo” players were a venn diagram, it would just be a circle.

That’s only because so far the game has designed the hardest content to be premade group content. This doesn’t have to be the case going forward. So solo players would not be “casual” in that situation. Which is what’s being asked for.

Because people such as yourself will burn thru content in a week if turned loose with it.

You can’t do well made grinds in a week. This would only be a failure of design. I have more faith in blizzard. But you’re just trying to put up invented roadblocks that aren’t actually a problem. Signs of a weak position.

Also, you can go and do a mythic vaults raid right now and have the same “problem” if you farm it.

Try harder to convince yourself what I said isnt fact.
gating keeps you from burning down content faster than they can make it.

we done here?
