I realized that wow will never truly change and it's hard to find reasons to play

I have been playing the game since legion and the endgame is still is the same

Raid, mythic +, pvp. And yes you could argue transmog is a form of endgame or farming mounts could be another endgame.

But in the end it’s always the same thing with each xpac with just a different theme with a hit or miss content feature.

I try to find reasons to keep playing, but it feel like i play the same game for 6 years now and i just can’t find any good reason to tell myself ‘’ man i want to play wow now ‘’

because in reality it’s either a engine limitation that the game have or devs are too scared to innovate

Like just one example, In bfa i thought warfront was a PvP activity that could make pvp great but i was completely wrong and i was in real disappointment. Imagine how cool it would be if it was the case.

Idk man, since dragonflight i have been playing more other games than ever before because i just want something new in the game.

Anyway here’s my 2 cents.

Edit :1 Yall are just missing the point in this post. I’m interested to play WoW and do MMO stuff. Not play the sims or do unchallenging stuff and dealing with recycled content too many times with no real differences is really tiresome

Like why would i care about transmog if i dont like the gameplay, Why should i be playing pokemon when im there for a mmo, selfies? fr there’s instagram for that thing, World quest are just for cosmestics and 0 challenges to them.

Wow has been the same for almost 20 years. The only “new” thing they have added to this game that stuck around was M+.

Based on your post, think it’s just time for a new game in general for you.

It will continue to be the same core game if you boil it down to that.

stop playing then if you don’t like the core content.

I have no idea how you think the end game activities are the same this expansion as previous ones unless you only do a narrow window of content.

I mean yeah mythic + is fun but after 2 years, it’s always the same recycled mechanics with no major upgrades. and also the fact you have to queue for 5-10 minutes to get accepted and wait for people to come in a dungeon feels so much 2004 for me

What level of content did you do?

I did raiding, pvp and dungeons but the logistics make it irritable and the lack of innovaton or changement in pvp when there’s an obvious meta

How far did you get to?

I tried a solid 2 weeks of healing as a preservation, didn’t go higher than 1900 and got really tired of the meta and i didnt even had the motivation to do raiding

Dragonflight has the most freedom of choice compared to previous expansions.

Most of the suggestion you say are just unchallenging stuff or cosmestic stuff. I mean im there for the gameplay not playing sim 4

Unfortunately, the core problems that cause sub declines aren’t being addressed. A game can’t remain the same for almost 20 years and still have appeal to new players.

Don’t force yourself to play a game you don’t like. I did that during bfa. After that however I only played like 2 months of Shadowlands and then quit. Same with Dragonflight. My game time ends in a few hours and I won’t renew it. Depends on the next content patch, if I’ll come back.

It’s a good thing to try out other games.

Do you truly find more than half of that list fun?

That’s pretty good!

Part of the reason I ask is cause I recently had a few friends come back to WoW with me and we’re having a blast.

However a big part of when we hadn’t subbed yet and we’re discussing the game in discord was ‘What are we going to shoot for’.

Now by the sounds of it you mostly PvP which fairly the same content with different character skillls, however raiding and dungeons vary significantly by what gears and tiers are available, as well as what class combos you bring further to just the instance mechanics itself.

(Mind you before WoW I played FF14 and I loved it just as much, might be worth a shot ;))

That’s what I do for fun. And redoing the story just to pay more attention to anything else I missed.

I mean for sure, dragonflight is an upgrade compared to BFA and shadowlands, the issue is that the devs dont really innovate in their content and just stick with their usual content and do some changes there and there.

but seeing demo being op for 1 month and not nerfed makes me crazy or the fact a mm hunter can 600k damage in 6 seconds in pvp makes me want to smash my head as a healer

And do you understand the reasoning for why you find that fun? Nobody truly gets it and you clearly are not the same after all. Once the raid get finished, then there’s something else entirely to raid with and pvp goes in a way that many people compete and that’s it HELLO?

For sure, but if they change it they risk destroying it for the people who are already here and there is no guarantee they will attract enough new players to replace the old.

Hell, some people i’ve talked to who have expressed disinterest in WoW has done so mainly because the game is so old.
