I re-equipped Tome of Unstable Power Today

That’s where I’m at.

Just trying to remember what arcane “could” be like. How is this not a hero talent or standard arcane tree talent off of mirror image. If they brought it back in that way, I would never complain again.

It proc’d ok, but with the -100 ilvl or whatever, it’s not viable of course, but still fun!

EDIT: Ok, I’m back to my craziness…this procs nicely off Sacbrood (which is a top tier trink anyway) and so now I’m looking at crafting other items that have a “tick” or additional damage to see if I can get the proc rate on Tome high enough to make it viable, I’m nuts I know, but you play your game, I’ll play mine.

Crafted 2 pieces with additional hits/ticks and it proc’s pretty frequently, but still not enough to really make it work :(. It wasn’t that far off either.

I still have mine in my bags and sometimes put it on while I am at the dummies waiting for a queue to pop.

Guess we have to wait till they cycle the Azure Vault back into the M+ rotation because you know they will never actually make those types of assets available to players and update our spell visuals. I am still incredibly bitter that Arcane Orb has literally never been updated since it was first introduced in WoD over a decade ago and Arcane Blast hasn’t hasn’t either even though the updated VFX for both have been in the game’s files since BfA but are only used by NPCs. /smh

This approach is what I enjoy about these types of posts. The hope and enthusiam leave me hoping you can find something unexpected.

Most of the trinkets available to me are not of interest. I think I’m going to switch to my fallback of gladiator’s insignia and badge. At least extra haste feels good, and a 60 second cooldown makes it easy to line up with something.

I hate spymaster, I question if it really worth it. And I feel like the rest of the trinkets this season are just super mid

It’s so annoying having to run yet another WeakAura to track its stacks but it’s ridiculously powerful, especially for classes that rely on burst windows and cooldown stacking like mages do.

Personally, I think all trinkets should provide a cool proc or if they have to be on-use then it should be something you use it and it drops a giant meteor or shoots out a laser beam or something along those lines. Making them give buffs and be glorified stat sticks is beyond lazy design.

My approach is I get bored too fast. I hate that there is a “best” pathway and I keep trying to find a new talent build or trinket combo or something that makes the gameplay more engaging. I’m always trying to do something unique.

Sad part is it usually ends up with me back at the “best case” setup after running through as many iterations as I can.

Just now I tried to see if I could get the supernova build to work, but it suffers from the same thing it always has, which is about 15 seconds of dead time. When it caps at 30 charges it should immediately reset supernova. And even at 600% damage and cast during surge, it doesn’t catch up with the alternative :(. So whatever.

Also on my mind is finding a way to use the arcane explosion talents to see if that could be a fun build. The 25% increased dmg per explosion sounds interesting, like making explosion my CC spender??? And running into ToM, maybe idk, it probly doesn’t work either but I will explore.
