I quit DF faster than i quit BFA or even Shadowlands

I was really digging this expac at first, but then i suddenly just had a sinking feeling that left me unable to play any longer.

Maybe its because i realized that it would be grind all over again, or maybe i knew that i couldnt keep up those who play 14 hours a day.

Did anyone else suddenly feel like there was no point in playing anymore?

I think you just saw through the pixellated curtain that’s always been there, mate. There’s never been a point to this game. It’s a gigantic nothing, a hardcore hobby at best, and a career for a very small select few. Just like any other hobby in life, you do it because you enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy it? Don’t do it.

Nah everything seems to be “at your own pace” this expansion. Sometimes I get lost for hours just farming nodes lol

The amount of threads discussing players magically discovering that a WoW x-pack will be like the ones before it is surprising.

You cant maintain your hardcore hours for many years on this game. Eventually, you would run out of play time and you would become a Casual.

Casual can still play this game. AoTC and KSM is achievable as Casual. And that’s where I am at right now. I am having a blast on this game despite of having lesser play time.

I understand that it would be hard for PvP. PvP is a game of who’s on top of the Food Chain. A Casual has no business to play that game as you would be killed over and over as a free honor kill by every Hardcore player. That’s why I never touched that game now as Casual. But I enjoyed being on Top of the Food Chain on my early days in WoW. I had a blast.

Nah.

Because unlike previous expansions there is no grind and there’s no need to keep up with people. I play at my own pace and don’t give a damn what Joe McSteve has on his characters.

Yep.

PIck the grinds you like as all games grind. it is the way
unless you like to use console commands, data file hacking, or cheat mods if an option lol.

MY sub lapses in february. I don’t see renewal. Not emo rage.

sp games has some appeal to me of late. Warhammer 40k martyr has a new season to play with the battle sister class now out. that should carry me close to June. then I can help an angelic dude deal with his estranged demon ex-wife in d4 lol.

eve
actually did some changes to faction warfare that I am liking. Liking enough I don’t regret burning isk to be omega access again and have looked at the option to stay for more than a month.

I gave up caring about AotC and “keeping up” with others. I’m having a much better time now.

Did you know he has Corrupted Ashbringer?

because this expansion has a pathetic amount of content outside of raiding and m+, and the content that is there is incredibly repetitive, uninspired, and low effort

i dont blame u

The gear grind has always been there but I guess you might be growing out of the need for it
I did a long time ago. I pursue other hobbies/interests. I’ve always had a fascination with aquariums and have two salt water (125g and a 50g nano) and three fresh water (125g, 75g and 47g cube)
Then recently I found a show called ‘Forged in Fire’ and have bought some beginning stuff to start forging knives. It will all be by muscle express as I’m not going to invest 10k into some of the more expensive equipment, but I’ve got enough to dip my toes.

Maybe you’re at that point
 time to find new interests.

How is that any different that any other expansion lol

I was seriously about to unsub, and then, i remembered why i actually enjoy the game, and its 100% not gear progression. Playing just for gear progression is a serious dead end. I’d argue even raiders and mythic dungeon runners get their enjoyment from the actual challenge, and not just getting better gear.

Too many people i think play the game specifically on the gear treadmill, and they get hella bored and unfullfilled.

Its an mmorpg, i don’t know what you would expect.

do you play with and interact with people who play 14 hours a day?

Are they your guildies?

This comment confuses me.

Do you decide not to go to work, because someone there might work more hours than you?

No, I leveled up to 70 at a very slow pace
and that pace took me less than a week. It’s never gone by so quickly before. I feel ya.

Take a break, maybe you come back and maybe you don’t. If you do return everything will seem exciting when you start playing again.

Can you please explain this fear of being behind? Not once in 18 years have I ever been afraid of falling behind but the forums seem to be in a constant state of terror over it. Who exactly is pulling ahead of you and why is it a problem if they do?

I raid. There are guilds that have killed the final boss on mythic already. Im not in those guilds. I dont feel this dread that ive fallen behind even though i objectively have. I havent cleared normal yet but i know im further along than other guilds and others are farther than me. Its just a game. Please explain
