I played FF14 to endgame, here's my conclusion

If you’re a person who takes a game serious, stick to wow. The endgame in FF14, while challenging, isn’t really that rewarding as the gear you obtain isn’t that much different from the cheap crafted gear and and once you’re full gear which is quick and easy to do, there’s not much reason to raid. If you’re a casual player or someone who doesn’t like raiding then FF14 is better for you, as FF14 does content outside of raiding way better than wow, additionally the story while leveling up is actually enjoyable as a person who usually skips story stuff.

Its always nice to see a fair take.

However the problem comes from if FF offers everything better outside of late game at least in your opinion then WoW has a problem most players aren’t into the end game.

A late game focus is good but you aren’t going to have a massive following if that is all you are offering. So WoW may have to change its tactics if FF keeps picking up steam

I can mostly agree with this. The end game of ffxiv is solid though imo. The raiding, savage raiding, extreme trials, ultimate raids are very based on the collection of the transmog items and prestige of the accomplishment. They have end game grinds like relic weapons as well. I really do appreciate that the game does not try to shove everything down my throat as part of a power grind.

In wow I need to do torghast, mythic plus, pvp, raiding, korthia dailies, etc for the power progression of the game. I love the simplicity of final fantasy and that they try to make the grindy bits not required to have fun for the raiding bits.

To each their own. Yes wow might have a slight edge on raiding content and a real strength in mythic plus and pvp. However I have never felt so greatful to have a relaxing game like ffxiv that there is so much to do and enjoy.

FF14 has some easily fixed annoyances, however. The transmog system is very complicated and confusing. The chat system is horrible. There doesn’t seem to be a way to easily reply to tells or switch between chats without a lot of clicking.

final fantasy is about the journey , while the destination is there if you want it. its a final fantasy game first and foremost

Your opinion is what it is, but this guy disagrees:

Yea it does suck…

Final Fantasy it’s more geared for the casual…

The only thing wow gets right is its raids… they are best in the mno universe in my opinion

The world is more fun in FF14 even though WoW maps are superior . You randomly run into invisible walls in FF14 and the loading screens are relentless .

There is ofcourse no comparison in raids, PvP or mythic plus when put against WoW

Since you clearly didn’t bother to watch the video, here are some highlights:

  • The ultimate raids are made for eight players, so they’re more challenging, with no room for carried players
  • The glamour/transmog gear that you get out of the high end raids is exclusive to those raids, so it feels truly prestigious
  • Since player power is decoupled from the ultimate raids, only the really serious players even attempt them
  • Ultimate raids are always level/item level synced, so no one can ever come back two expansions later and faceroll the content for the same glamour/transmog/mount that you tried so hard for

Problem is, wow is the only game left with a late game focus, where the hell are we supposed to go if that’s what we play for?

Thinking wow 50 ilvl gap is a good thing, right

Don’t care. The incentive in wow to continue raiding is to get more gear, in ff14 there is no incentive except cosmetic which you get the first time you clear it.

How is an ilvl gap bad? You just get the higher ilvl gear?

Yes, so you’ve come to play ye bastion of non repetitive gameplay…

World of Warcraft.

FF14 does not do PvP or dungeoneering better than WoW.

It’d be more accurate to say that it does non-endgame content better.

I personally just don’t have time for the story. That’s just me.

It’s a shame bc I like the combat and classes better in FF, actually.

But I don’t have a lot of time each night to play, and I will not spend that time reading and watching cutscenes. I want to log in and actually do activities and complete stuff.
