I play at 4k/120fps on a 55" screen

And it’s pretty damn awesome.
But the real point here is i was thinking about how absolutely amazed I would have been had I seen this setup when I was a kid 40 years ago.
This game running on this setup would have completely floored me. I mean we were playing Atari combat on small low res screen which were basically just like 3 blocks moving around on a screen.

Pretty amazing how much has changed.

Imagine having to turn your entire head to see information

Me too! Well, 65" (not trying to brag or anything, TVs are cheap now). I sit right in front of it, what an amazing experience. A bit of neck strain though haha

Ain’t no way you getting 120fps @ 4K in some places (like Valdrakken) though. I have a screaming system and even lower graphics will not keep my above 100fps in modern areas.

Started playing WoW with a 17" CRT, then upgraded to a 1440x900 LCD at some point.

The 8-bit character models in Vanilla would have looked pretty silly on a set up like that.

and no point in 120 fps if human eyes can only see 59 fps

I’m getting 120 even in the expansion in most area. I found that I can have everything maxed out but turn compute effects down and it makes a huge difference. That said there are parts that it still drops to the low 100s or high 90s but that pretty unusual.

Try turning down compute effects and see what happens.

Hmmm…I have tried that specifically. What processor are you running? Do you overclock?

Yeah, I have a 33 inch monitor and I think it is to big to play on…I cant imagine trying to work with 55 inches

there’s Nvidia Reflex in options.
anyone seen a difference using it?

That is absolutely bs.

The smoothness is night and day.

It took some getting used to. Screwing around with a co-workers setup is what convinced me to go for it. I wouldn’t go back now that I’m used to it.

Yeah, I used to think that too until I saw it with my own eyes. The smoothness cannot be overstated. 100% worth it.

I have two screens and I have to do that.

its biological that human eyes percieve 120 fps but its really just that a perception when in reality you see 59 fps

i5 12600k with a 6800xt windows 11

Try it out and let me know if it makes a difference. I found it by accident.

It’s noticeable, though. Show me a screen running 75 fps and one running 120, I will guess correctly every single time. The realism gets eerie the faster it goes. I don’t know what the upper limit of perception there is though…I want to try a 144hz panel next and see if I can tell.

Smaller screens are so much better for anything competitive. If you’re playing for the view though, knock yourself out.

I feel you OP I upgraded my rig to OLED gaming. 42" 4k 120hz OLED Screen on a RTX 4090. It slays any game at max settings even Hogwarts and looks amazing!

With that Said you really need to move your thread to here. If you dont Blizz will
