I'm not paying $50 for open beta. Time to fulfill your promise and give us an update. Your new game sucks. You systematically broke the classes. It's boring. It lacks imagination. Your population is in free fall, and the population is very important for the type of game you have designed. Releasing Vanilla might save it and give you a reason to fix your mistakes on the modern version. Hurry it up or risk losing your player base to modern MMOs.

I love Elder Scrolls Online. It just needs a bigger player base.

Name one that isnt. I'd rather play Horse Island or Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
Final Fantasy is cringe city, but if you can put up with the people who play it there's more meat on its bones than modern WoW

I have played off and on since Vanilla (my sister played in Beta, and tried to get me on board sooner, but I didn't get interested til I got to see her playing the game in person).
I have taken long breaks, off and on, and only ever played casually even when I was playing at all. I also bought every expansion, up until Warlords of Draenor, because the premise didn't grab me, and anyhow I was playing another game, and by the time i came back, in Legion, WoD was included in my sub.
I never pre-order. I don't play early access. I sit and wait, and watch, and read. I bought Battle for Azeroth last month as a birthday present for myself, because I decided most of the worst issues were fixed, or slated to be fixed, I was still enjoying the game, and I wanted at least one of the Allied races enough to make me want the expansion.
You can get BfA for the price of your subscription whenever what expansion follows it goes live. It's how I have Warlords of Draenor. If you really don't feel it's worth your money, don't buy it. Wait.

Why dont you tell us how you really feel OP?
I should hope not! BFA is not currently in BETA, so anyone trying to sell you beta access is lying to you.11/01/2018 12:46 AMPosted by MorgaieneI'm not paying $50 for open beta.

I like bfa, the thing that irks me are the azorite gear combined with AP, way too much RNG. For pvp, I would like to buy specific items, to make my toons stronger. If you cap conquest points, give us a token, where we can buy specific things.

You could get Beta access by buying a $50 blizzcon virtual ticket.

I was wondering when someone would point that out! It's infuriating how Blizzard turns off your ability to discuss on the forums without an active sub. That includes people who cancel their sub but it's still active. It's ridiculous, and I just wanted to get my thoughts out there. I do plain on cancelling a day or two before my sub is charged again.

Maplestory 2
Final Fantasy XIV
Oldschool Runescape/2007scape
Guild Wars 2
Shall i go on?
It is an interesting turn-around though. Once upon a time, companies had to pay people to test games. Then it was free testing.
Now you have a company who is offering testing as a part of a payment (no matter what the semantics are : if you buy a blizzcon ticket, you can go in the vanilla beta--this is only not "pay to play our beta" if people outside blizzcon can also test it).
It's an interesting dollar creep, but it's a similar one to the "paid DLC -->day one DLC that was ripped from the game to sell separately--> gambling boxes" when content used to be "pay for it once and get what you pay for" (for all the faults of older games and I don't deny there were many).
I've been a gamer since the 1980s and it's been fun watching how much players have, over time, allowed corporations to start gouging players for content that used to be taken for granted. The younger generation puts up with a lot more than we used to.
So... yeah, I won't be paying Blizzard to test their game, either, but thanks for the offer.

FF14
ESO (particularly fun these days)
NWO
STO
SWTOR (awesome storytelling)
All of the above are much, much better than BfA. So good that most of my WoW friends are playing these games instead, myself included.
