after a year of failed attempts to update my Windows to version 2004 and above, I may have found the problem. At first I tought I just needed to update the APU and mobo chipset, but that did not work. Yesterday I found that there are other mobo related drivers that “supports win,10 ver. 2004”. So today I’m thrilled, maybe I’ll finally get an up to date OS!
But before I proceed, I’d like to know how lol. The drivers I’m missing are for RealTek audio, and the other driver is for my LAN. But I have no clue what a LAN is or how to update that. Do I simply download and click on the file? Or are there other steps, like turning off my modem for example? This stuff makes me nervous as hell.
Done, but the install still fails. I sent it to a computer shop and they recommended a fresh windows install, but that failed too! The technician basically said tough luck, nothing he can do. But we settled for a BIOS update at the last minute. We’ll see how that goes. I was so proud of that PC. A new Ryzen 7, but it lasted 2 or 3 years. Sometimes I hate computers. Maybe I should drop them altogether and reinvent myself.
I cannot do that now, it’ll be at the repair shop for a day or two. But ty.
Edit : The technician just called. Good news! He thinks it was a faulty RAM stick.
My PC is now up to date, I just have to pick it up tomorrow. This was a good day.
