I recently started the game and decided I wanted to mess around with the dragon race. I am playing war within btw. I got too ruby life shrine and got to level 20 and did the flying mount quests and now my flight is all janky and boring. This seems to be a feature and i want to revert it back to where you can fly around super-fast with the momentum and stuff.

You want to Switch Flight Style.
To switch your flight style, simply go to the mount journal, which can be found in the Warband Collections tab on the bottom bae of your screen with the Horseshoe symbol. Once there, look for a button to the left of the mount equipment and left-click this to switch.

However, I must warn you that you will be forced out of it for a while at level 70 when you go to the next expansion The War Within in Khaz Modan. I have NO idea what the devs are thinking to make us do this, but they do. /sigh
At that point, you can “re-earn” /sigh Steady Flight by doing this achievement
It’s not nearly as bad as it used to be in previous expansions to access any flying at all, so you can consider yourself lucky, in some way, I guess.
