I wrote an addon many years ago (like during WotLK), and just recently updated it in November to work with the newer API.
It’s called “Language Translator” and it’s on curseforge. It’s not really a translator, since that is against the rules. It is a fake translator.
If someone speaks in “yell” or “say” in a different language (regardless of faction), your character will automatically provide a “translation” in the same arena of conversation (yell or say). Don’t worry, there is a mechanism to prevent endless loops of “translations” when there are multiple people with the addon. The translation is just a simple pull from a library of quotes/comments that are in the addon.
The thing is, I want to add to my base library of quotes/comments. Yes, you can add to them as you see fit once you download it, but I’d like to use some of those by adding to the base library in the file on Curseforge.
The way it looks in your chat is as follows:
Prinkle yells: (Gnomish) Hubler po
[You] yells: Hey! Prinkle just yelled (Gnomish to Common) I miss Dalaran being a big pink bubble by the lake.
Throw some quotes my way and I’ll add them.
