If you want something to hold you over till DF comes out, I would suggest you try and 100% The Witcher 3. Such a great game.

I mean when did you play FFXIV? Combat feels alot better after the removal of TP in Shadowbringers.
For leveling and the story don’t do the side quests. Just do the MSQ and any Blue Quests (Quest with a Blue icon unlock features, jobs etc).
The story starts off slow and ok and ramps up once you get past Leviathan.
As for other games, I would have recommended SWTOR but the devs completely screwed up. Still good to play the class stories I recommend Sith Inquisitor. But any end game content is dead.
So aside from SWTOR and FFXIV for an MMO the only other games I can recommend are non-MMO’s.
If you want a good sandbox and do what you want type game Sid Meier’s Pirates (2004) is amazing, $10 on steam, and lost out to WoW for Game of the Year and came in 2nd place.
I’d suggest a break from MMOs OP. They’re exhausting.

Just don’t play SWTOR, or rather, don’t buy a sub.
The 7.0 “expansion” was the size of a small content patch in WoW. The only saving grace with that game are the class stories that go to level 50. Those are great, but stay far away from endgame and the shop.

Ah ok so the Shadowbringers combat changes were in by then.
Still probably best to just play a non MMO for a break.
Play classic, wrath prepatch drops in a week.
Dont play wow then, try a new genre.
Come and join the ranks of dead by daylight instead
Also path of exile is a good time
In all candor OP, try OSRS. It’s a graphical nightmare. The music sucks. The sounds suck. The combat sucks.
But it’s the most immersive solo friendly MMO you are ever going to find. Been feeling the itch again lately for it and will probably find myself there soon.
Plus the mobile client for it is excellent.
I can’t wait to read the posts by all the old timers who will be coming back for that to see what y’all have turned classic into. Oh man.

Lost Ark isn’t bad if you are looking for something slightly different but still want an mmo feel.
You mean blizz? I don’t get a say in the game design choices…
tbh I’ve been just hanging out in Hearthstone and leveling up through the tiers until Dragonflight.
I didn’t enjoy Shadowlands at all.
But I enjoy the Warcraft lore too much to just play any ol game. Hearthstone has been a fun break from WoW.
For me the world just doesn’t have that spark of life, WoW has those fun, goofy little moments that make you smile.
FFXIV just felt like what it is, just a bunch of zones filled with mobs. The spark is missing.
They ram the story down your throat, so if you don’t like the story it’s basically over before it starts.

Nah. Blizz didn’t turn classic into a 100% faction stacked Realm RMT cesspit sweaty meter monkey parse lord disaster. The players did that all their own.
