Thats the thing. A lot of crafters are ‘completionists’ at heart. I used to try to lvl every xpacs profs, as I missed quite a few years. These older xpac items have become completely devalued over the past year as leveling has become so fast, and the relics of the past got super nerfed. Nothing retained its value so I stopped, and before that I was super into it.
Same thing with having that many points to grind. At a certain point you say 'naw, I’m good." Not exactly a game changer, I mean the items get made that I need and that’s helpful, but an enthusiasm killer for crafting completionists.
