Even with all the suspicious guards everywhere, Suramar city was objectively a lovely place.
Sure, there wasn’t any Wrestling in there. But life isn’t all about Wrestling, you know.
Suramar managed to do something that no other WoW city could: It felt alive. You take a stroll through the city, and you’ll see children playing (pew pew pew!), mailmen carrying messages around, souvenir shops, a zoo, you can take tour around their wine production, etc.
It actually feels like the Nightborne live there.
The closest thing we have to an actual city besides Suramar is Stormwind, and poor Stormwind can’t really go anywhere close to competing with Suramar.
They really did outdo themselves with Suramar. The overall story, the zone–they knocked it right out of the park.
I used to love navigating the rooftops and stopping to admire that weather event when the little sparkly snow stuff would happen. And the automatic boats in the canals were so cool, too
I hated that place at first, but once you learn how to efficiently get around, it really is quite nice. And I loved the story line as well. Fun to free the people!
I agree, Boralus was well done too. The horde city Zandawhosis was a disaster everyone hated (how could you make a Mayan golden pyramid so miserable and unpleasant to be around??).
They’ve shown they can make that kind of thing work, I’d love to see more of that done with reboots of old world capitol cities. Make them feel bigger and more alive.
I feel like Boralus is more lively than Suramar. But Suramar definitely is pretty. I would of preferred if Suramar was the Legion hub over Dalaran. At least a portion of the city.
It would be great if suramar can have two phases like teldrassil or lordaeron. a legion phase and another where it is a nightborne / horde friendly city
Suramar and the Nightborne storyline is my favorite of all time.
Even love the music. Spent a ton of time there grinding to get a Nightborne of my own. I go back every now and again to mine ore and those mana gems. It’s a great zone
