I miss Nazjatar wpvp

It was fun seeing big fights break out all the time.

Right now their isn’t a zone that is designed that for those types of fights to happen in shadowlands.

I hope they bring something like that back in a future patch.

Yeah! and the fun achivements you can get with the war mode drops and the azerite powerup that made you OP was fun as well.

Umm have you been to the Maw?

You mean a group of 20+ people camping the only way out of a zone?
That is not the same as the dynamic back and forth fight of the fights in Nazjatar.
You can even stealth past the people camping the portal on any class thanks to that buff you get.

Not to mention the big wpvp event that would happen in Nazjatar.

you’ll be lucky to find a few people fighting here and there, nowhere near large scale fights you would see almost all the time at Nazjatar.

I guess our memories are diff. I remember zerg guilds camping Naz when the battle would launch, just like players like to zerg the entrance to the Maw. Really similar, in my experience

oh, That would of been fun to see.

Sadly I don’t see that anymore. Maybe their could be some groups that still do that I could find.

I hope so too.

I certainly don’t miss the lagfests sponsored by CL and Ruin. But yeah, it was nice a lot of times. I only remembered the one Saturday I was out there all PM trying to get the crate because of the Alliance, but one out of tens ain’t bad.

I 100% agree this was fun and drastically missing in SL

i miss nazj and mech battles. man i was a force there. they need more areas and even events in old zones to bring people to do wpvp.

I just think that Blizz designed SL to get people’s minds off WPvP for at least a while. Because “turn WM off” and “M+ is the better way to gear” somehow mysteriously fell on deaf ears. Granted, we get tired of hearing that but it’s the strongest and fairest argument that tries to satisfy both sides. What people wanted was an expansion whose theme WASN’T WPvP, which came at the expense of what WPvPers wanted.

If turnabout is fair play, next expansion ought to be full-tilt up-the-wazoo WPvP and if you don’t like it, there’s inferior(for the time) PvE and instanced PvP options.

I agree with this so much, but it also brought out a critical flaw with Wpvp events like this… within the first day or so of releasing Nazjatar, there was a hotfix in place so that some realms wouldn’t even trigger the event it would just be some terrible “Go kill the elites, ooooooooh they are so dangerous”

I personally love these kind of things, I miss Wintergrasp, Tol Barad, all that stuff was so fantastic even when i missed out, On my server alone it cause the name Diash to become server famous (And now a meme) to this day because he would tell the Alliance how to win Wintergrasp on a server where horde utterly dominated it. War Mode & the lack of these kind of PvP events hurts this game so much its upsetting, Theres no community conflict, no counter ganking, no friendships formed from ganking or trying to reverse a gank with someone else, no one asks for help they just port away or turn off warmode :frowning:

They completely dropped the ball this xpac for wpvp.

I called it last year when the SL alpha builds came out and nothing was leaked or mined about WM or WPvP content. It was quite clear Blizzard wanted to do another 180°.

Because [mostly] Alliance whiners cried about Hordish supremacy in WPvP. Ever since 8.0, they never really quite picked up. The CL and Ruin breakthroughs were flukes of shard manipulation, which speaks a lot of how the [Normal] Alliance really wins. Blizzard might not have dropped the ball accidentally on it. Goodness knows they did everything they could for the Alliance. Gucci AOO and 25-30% WM bonuses which stayed constant the whole ride through after 8.1.

I honestly can’t blame Blizzard. They should have tried to optimize the sharding, sure. You can’t break down what you didn’t build up, and if that describes N-Horde(or RP Alliance) to a tee, then there’s nothing Blizzard can do to get both factions to the WPvP table. They could, in a daring gambit, pool RP servers and Normal servers in the same sharding, where the best of both factions can duke it out. And Normal Alliance and RP Horde can just go get the popcorn…

We’re in an expansion now where WPvP means precisely pet-Richard. You have instances and ChoreCraft to take up your time. There’s nothing in WPvP worth checking out so that way you don’t get your feelings hurt in the pursuit thereof.

Somehow the Maw PvP just isn’t as satisfying.
They really dropped the ball on PvP this xpac, and alienated a whole group of their subscribers.

When CTA was up in nazjatar it was always a fun week, the back and forth battles on the bridge between the two bases were amazing. On some servers you could find a group of 40+ alliance (not zerg guilds, just pugs) to fight for hours.

Blizz is adding a quest to kill 20 players in korthia with the reward being a new pvp trinket.
I hope it’s a weekly quest so that wpvp has some kind of reward attached to it. There will also be covenant assaults in the maw which i’m hoping will be just as good as the BFA assaults.

Why do I get the feeling this is a reactionary measure? Or maybe this was their plan all along. If it is, I have to say that eight months was more than enough time for everyone to get their fill of the PvE.

If the assaults are as populated as they were in BFA i think they will be even more fun. Flying is not going to be unlocked in the maw so every fight will be ground skirmishes (which is more fun then having a whole raid group stack in the air =b)
