As the title says.
Seemed more fun to me that something like Leech or Speed. Wish we still had it.

I could shoot out little baby chaos bolts.
Give me back my children Blizzard!
It was a lot of fun that’s for sure! Especially on dagger rogues.
Never understood why they removed it. It was a fun stat that you could actually see the effect of. Unlike Leech or Speed (youre kidding if you think you can notice the 2% increase in speed)
Think they had problems balancing classes with that stat …not that its removal solved their problems with balancing
They removed it because they felt the stat was redundant; it is essentially the same thing as crit.
Ehhhh multistrike just felt too much like crit.
Except each multistrike could also crit, so it really wasn’t. That just feels like an excuse from the devs to me. It’s no different from the random corruptions we get that deal damage randomly.
Multistrike made playing a Frost Mage funny just because of all of the icicles that would fire off.
I miss that too.
my BDK could almost keep Breath up permanently because Multistrike procs rewarded RP.
Good times.
As someone who played two multistrike dependant specs in WoD, sub and frost mage, I hope that not only for that awful stat to never come back with its code deleted, but I also hope versatility eventually joins it’s fate of being removed because it sucks.
you should try elemental shaman, their mastery works like multistrike used to
I was actually thinking about mutlistrike earlier, I do miss it.
I understand why it was removed, it was basically critical strike with more steps.
But it was so much more visually pleasing.
I would personally enjoy seeing casters get multistrike opposed to critical strike.
Let’s replace Critical Strike with Multistrike for a week and observe the results.
Wasn’t it more that they wanted to promote spec fantasy and leave it as an Elemental Shaman-only mechanic?
That was one of the reasons they gave, I remember boosting an Ele afterwards with my Legion boost just to see, but it basically being a more complicated Critical Strike was the main issue.
It was neat but I think stats are probably best kept on the simpler side, with the fancier effects staying as talents, on-equips, etc.
Sadly it got nixed with the animation changes, but humans and maybe one or two other races used to have a special, more powerful looking/sounding swing animation and sound on melee crits, which made getting crits on warriors and paladins extremely satisfying. I would love to see that make a return for melee and if casters got an analogue that’d be great.
Ele shaman with multi strike and echo of the elements was hilarious.
Cast one lightning bolt. Get twenty. (exaggeration, yes, but that is how it felt sometimes)
Reminiscent of back when windfury could proc sword spec and vice versa, which would occasionally lead to crazy train proc chains.
