Garrosh is being sworn in 12pm local time
Sorry couldn’t resist
lol
I can see it now
YOU WILL SERVE THE HORDE OR BE CRUSH BENEATH IT
put a blond wig on him and I will laugh my butt off
I liked that Garrosh could spur people into action, but if he would have stayed in power, due to game mechanics or story telling limits, Garrosh would have started to feel like he was trapped in a box of what he could and could not do.
I don’t know if Blizzard would have been willing to let Garrosh torch an Alliance city or two, or even bring down Dalaran.
Garrosh was a terrible warchief, but a great character. These are not mutually exclusive.
Garrosh was terrible as a Warchief. His constant belittling of the non-orc races, using them as cannon fodder, and desire for endless domination would’ve led the Horde to eventual ruin if he hadn’t been taken down. He’s called “Orc hitler” for a reason, and part of that is that he depended on the Horde being at war to make it better. Even IF the Horde managed to conquer the world (highly unlikely) then… what would he do when there’s no enemies left to fight? It would’ve fallen apart because he had a one-track mind.
That said… I enjoyed him as a character. I liked how he was just so unapologetically insane and bull-headed. I enjoyed him in a similar way I enjoyed Gul’dan. He doesn’t try to do any mental gymnastics to justify his actions. He’s a completely insane, violent psychopath who had presence on screen. And it was fun.
I have good news. He was just inaugurated as warchief.
that true if i remember there was a story about before the orc came to Azeroth after they kill what they thought was all the draenei they started to fight each other until gul’dan was told about Azeroth and got them all together again.
Plus garrosh was just in the right place at the right time even if he himself didn’t want to be warchief
No one’s big like Garrosh
Wears a wig like Garrosh
Is a racist and bigoted pig like Garrosh!
Well that’s me cause the orcs are the master race!
My what a guy that Garrosh!
I miss Garrosh … and then adjust for windage.
I didn’t miss Garrosh. I filled him full of so many Frostbolts and Ice Lances.
With Trump back in the office it would make for a good opportunity to bring back Garrosh too.
He was a great warchief, until they decide he was very evil.
This is a mix of misconception of his character, blizzard changing the narrative to put him as villain in a final raid, horde leaders being lobotomized for the sake of the plot and blizz sweeping under the rug the alliance aggression trough wrath-cataclysm.
Garry was always a guy about honor and loyalty above all else, your loyalty is towards the horde and the warchief is the horde, thus, he demanded - within his right - utmost loyalty. If other races did not show the same amount the orcs did, he would not look at then fondly. In his eyes, they should… didnt the orcs and the horde saved then? why would they not be as loyal as the orcs?
Which this leads to the racial leaders being lobotomized, suddenly, they forgot the alliance was the one who started the war, suddenly they forget the alliance was invading the barrens and durotar while other fronts, suddenly they forgot the population was starving, without trade and resources, because the alliance stopped anything that was going on to declare war over wrathgate.
Garrosh only solution was to fight back, but the leaders though HE was being reckless, they though him was putting the horde in a “dark path”, by merely trying to win a war the enemy started, Vol’jin and the others would rather have the alliance invade sen’jin islands like they did in durotan than fight back, Baine would rather raise a wall and exile his own people to not fight back.
If the leaders of said races act like this, Garrosh started seeing said races as not trustworthy either. Sylvanas by example was always undermining his orders, and he was, after all, right about her, with the valkyr
Garrosh liked all races who participated in the war against the Lich king by example, great respect for the tauren who show up heavily, he dislike that trolls did not commit as much, since they were busy dealing with Zazalane.
Overall, Garrosh made the horde a world potency to rival with the alliance: Made the horde economically independent of the alliance crumbs, created an organized and well trained army, with not just fighters but spellcasters and mages(sending orcs to train under blood elf and forsaken wizards, decreasing the need of demon magic, drive out invaders, took land, expand horde influence in other continents, brought allies in, rebuild orgrimmar to be a true metropolis and made a better live for the citizens.
It is criminal, that in wrath/cata, Garrosh and Varian were pretty much the same character, but they decide one has to be good and the other evil in the end, and broke something in the lore and immersion in the game that cant be repaired
Problem was he wasn’t just some story character. He was a faction leader and many players didn’t like him as he didn’t represent their values.
Agreed, I caught the nuanced difference even back then, many still don’t
You are incorrect, the entire MoP storyline is about how bad he is as chief. All of it, especially the pvp quests
Garrosh was basically the Scarlet Crusade for orcs, for better or worse (mostly for worse)
Good guy Garrosh (i.e. Stonetalon) was the result of Cata allowing zone designers to write questlines as if the zone was a standalone game and their own little fief, which is why a lot of them do not, at all, mesh coherently.
And they failed miserably at that, since most of his storyline was fine and players were very on board with it, until isle of thunder and voljin bs happened and they start pumping nonsense of racial superiority when there was none for the final raid.
Btw, killing off vol’jin 100% justified
PVP quests in Krassarag wilds were just fine, nothing wrong with it
Not rly, steonetalon was 100% coherently and consistent with Garrosh that we found in Outland in TBC till the start of MOP, it goes exactly along with his ideology of winning honorably and not attacking civilians for giggles(especially after Thrall scolded him in Wrath).
The Horde after MoP became an empty shell of it’s former self. It was a faction to be proud of now it’s just red alliance.
You realize he had no idea that Magatha poisoned his blade yeah?
That is when Garrosh destroyed every single bone in the body of a child. Oooo big bad alpha warchief there. lmao
