It’s only been 3 weeks, this is the intended difficulty.
You absolutely don’t know that this is the intended difficulty. But by all means, keep replying. Your posts make my post more visible.
You’re right, I don’t know if this is the intended but I hope it’s not. Layer 7 and 8 are not a challenge to most players who have good game knowledge and a strong item level. This is a challenge, and not everyone enjoys challenges so there’s lower layers with the bulk of the reward. I believe people should be rewarded for their effort, and this system does exactly that.
That’s normal for Blizz Eventually the pendulum will find its resting place. If I was a betting man I’d say 9.1 will have some interesting changes in store for us but I’m curious to see if it will be too late by then, will the community have grown to hate Torghast totally before Blizz can fix it?
The wow community doesn’t do well with unpleasant content, ask Oculus, that place is nothing like what it once was, if ONE person knows what to do then it doesn’t matter what everyone else does as far as dragon mechanics go. But whenever I get it to this day 10 years later someone always insta quits
Will Torghast suffer the same fate? Will Blizz’s decisions lead to a stigma against the place despite future improvements? Find out next time on Dragonball Z! Only time will tell
During alpha, multiple “influencers” were making video after video about how much crazy fun Torghast was, how they wanted to play it all day, how it was the best thing ever to be added to the game etc etc.
All of that was based on the design back then where you could get crazy overpowered, play with your expanding powers and blow stuff up.
Ion’s stated repeatedly that overpowering stuff and blowing it up is definitively NOT FUN, and presumably that’s why Torghast is now Mandatory Mage Tower on Steroids With Raid Trash.
Great for the e-peen crowd, not so much for everyone else.
Only three weeks in, the overwhelming feeling is that they already have.
Go run Twisting Corridors then. That was supposed to be the challenge mode.
It was fine the way it was. Actually…some classes were having issues, they playing field should have been leveled for them.
Group required to raid. Group required to run dungeons. Was no reason target solo play.
Players are reporting on the forums that they find Layer 7 and 8 easy, matter in fact I see people selling runs on my server as well. The point is that the difficulty has gone up and it’s now an actual challenge, and not everyone HAS to do 7 and 8, it’s not mandatory. You can run lower layers and get a bulk of the dust anyways.
I think Blizz can still save it! It seems like a bit more complicated version of M+ where they have to strike the right balance of difficulty between layers and the floors of each layer vs just the differences in key levels.
I would assume the goal is to have each layer noticeably different in difficulty the higher you go and each floor within a layer also increases in difficulty but at less of a degree than the difference between 1 layer and the next.
Also this. If there is a wing specifically considered by Blizzard to be the “challenge” wing does it make sense to also have the other wing challenging too?
You’re the only one reporting. As for selling runs on your server…how would you know? You’ve spent the entire day on the forums replying to every single Torghast thread.
This is from another thread also on the front page, same post had multiple people reporting that they finished it.
it’s completely true
keep simping on a 35 priest though kid
nobody is doing layer 7 and 8 “with ease” since the hotfix
I was regularly clearing 7-8 layers on beta no problem
I was clearing 6 no problem before the patch this week
Since the patch it’s a disaster on layer 4-5
there are literal things they broke
caster elites at end of level chain casting 40000000% cast speed is one of them
There are plenty of folks completing Layer 7 and 8 with ease, if it’s too difficult then maybe consider the lower layers. And this isn’t beta, and Layer 6 was last week. Every week they add new challenges, and the player base showed overwhelming support for it so far. GD is NOT a representation of all the players.
The first week in guild chat, I couldn’t stop talking about it, even after the DPS boss wiped the floor with me. I assumed it was a gear check, and that I just had to get better gear.
Then I had issues the following week.
And again the following week.
And now I just ignore it.
System is working as intended
Not likely. People paid to white knight know better than to antagonize people that have an issue with your product.
Like telling your spouse they have no reason to be upset. Only a good idea if you wanted someone to move all your stuff onto the front lawn.
Sounds more like someone who sells carries and wants what is good for himself and not the game.
Ion you can stop pretending now.
there was no significant changes to torghast from beta, other than BUFFING many classes anima powers.
so no, this isn’t beta, it should be easier, not more difficulty
no there aren’t “plenty of folks completing layer 7 and 8 with ease” unless they are well over 200 ilvl
Was clearing 6-7 at 160 no prob on beta
stop simping kid
it’s getting old
If you try mongo you will lose. I started to time my reflect, silence, and all that jazz. You learn which hit you can take which you can’t. After two deaths I got it down. Was hard, but felt fun and rewarding when I finally did it :).
