I still can’t understand it’s removal, especially for the idea of bloat when my buttons are fine and basically Sheilun’s Gift is in the same spot my EF used to take up. I used Essence all the time, just for the fun of it. The animation was unique amongst heal spells an imo Just AWESOME!! Love it to this day. was a great smaller multi heal for back up and or small heals. Plus the Thunder Tea + Essence Font combo was just Perfection.
I’d like to see them swap them, as I think there’s a greater skill level involved with EF as well. With SG there’s a wait to use mechanic, and while it’s a really Good heal admittedly, I feel the wait takes away from the fun of using it. EF was more about When to use it, used off time and it’s potential was off, but used in timing with certain mechanics it was truly a Fantastic heal spell.
“Let me know in the comments below”, HAHA nah but seriously am I the only Monk who misses the spell, but moreover just EVERYTHING about it? MistWeaver is still a Hella fun healer, but it’s just Never been the same, imo.
Ef was fun in raids and I liked the animation, blasting off a ton of healing bolts with tft-EF was silly times.
Hated it in m+ though - it was another thing to set up and alone it barely did anything in that environment outside of the extra gust procs/mastery healing. ( which was okay if you had a bunch of mastery but the extra time it added to setting up before you could burst heal kinda felt bad, you’d have to almost always drop a tft charge on EF to get it out faster - or you would just cancel EF instantly after the first 5 bolts went out )
IMO they should have just used essence font’s animation for Celestial Conduit. Celestial Conduit’s animation looks kinda goofy to me.

Pretty much this, but with slightly more positional requirements due to the smaller healing range. ( which is rarely an issue if the monk is in a decent central/melee location tbh )
I don’t understand why they brought back Sheilun instead of just having EF fill the same role.
Could be exactly the same pretty much but more flexible and satisfying. Accrue charges up to like 30 charges. Channel to poop EF bolts to lowest health target as a spread heal.
Then could add a passive choice node talent to let us randomly poop EF bolts when we soothing mist or SCK or something
I miss the animation it was pretty. I don’t really miss the spell and hated needing it for ancient teachings. Granted I’ve only just gotten back into months and I never played it in a serious capacity (next season will be my first time) so I’m probably weird.
EF to me was always a “i have nothing else to do but need aoe healing” button except when a tier set tried to make it super important, because that changed the way i used and thought about it.
EF really was just a “I need some healing but can’t stand still to cast and can’t fist weave” spell for me. In fact I went entire dungeons without pressing it sometimes, I just fist weaved with as little casting as was required. From what I understand, not that I paid too much attention to it before, EF really handicapped our mastery. Now mastery hasn’t exactly gotten so good that it’s better than vers in sufficiently high keys but I think that the raiding side benefitted from it and for most of the season, because it was all i could get from vault, I actually ran a high mastery build and I healed like regularly around 2m hps. Did like no damage but healed humongous numbers which was enough to get by. Healer dps isn’t critically important until like +16 anyway so, eh? I mean still matters lower but won’t determine a key timing as much as just making sure everyone’s alive and utility is good and tank is safe.
I got off topic a bit there but basicall EF was never important to what I was doing. I do miss having a “I have nothing else” button but not enough to bring it back tbh, because that was like a “whatever, essence font,” thing not like a “my last resort is essence font to save this pull, a 500 iq play of great genius,” nope just lol all i can do is channel essence font while i run around to reposition. Generous pour however would be amazing to return
