So your argument is that players can target a cloak thatās time-gated, and thatās ādeterministic gearingā even though the cloak itself does very little to determine the actual system itās tied to outside of allowing the player to use corruption affixes that they cannot readily attain outside of completely random chance?

One thing will always be true, you cannot argue anything with those that truly believe they are right and are not willing to admit there is any issues with this game. They may be the last person logging in before the servers shut down some day, but there is 0 issues, ever.

My argument is be careful what you wish for. You may like the process of doing that questline to get the cloak and then doing dailies and assaults to get vessels to get a key to enter a horrific vision to complete another quest just so you can upgrade it, but to many people that feels like work not a game.

I donāt like BiS-hunting because all it ever amounts to is looking up a guide and having someone tell you whatās good for your class. Thereās no thinking, thereās no tinkering, thereās no experimentation.
I donāt like being ādoneā with gear. I really like that I can help my friend in a Mythic that I outgear and that thereās a chance, however small, to get something out of it for myself.
Itās ingrained in players to chase the carrot to an upgrade, even if itās only a .00001% chance to Titanforge to exactly how you want it. This is something players need to curtail in themselves and Blizzard will never be able to stop people from chasing this dragon.
Thereās a compromise in here, somewhere, because I canāt stand getting the same slot of loot every single time. I get nothing but bracers and belts in 8.3 and itās becoming aggravating, and thatās where I start to miss deterministic gearing.

Why? Weāve had systems in the game previous to Legion that allowed us to target gear we wanted to target. This multi-layer RNG garbage is only about three years old, and the time-gated legendary is only a few years older than that.
Not buying this argument at all because it doesnāt make any sense.

See, I would agree with this, if people werenāt making assumptions about those who arenāt coming to the forums to tell everyone how upset they are.
Many of us who are enjoying the game know there are problems with the game. It affects us in various ways depending on what weāre doing at any given moment, the biggest difference between players like us and those who normally come to the forums to vent, we donāt get emotional. We try to have constructive conversations that have more depth than āBlizzard is bad mmkay!ā which is what we normally have on these forums.
There is also another thing to consider. Things that you think are problems in the game may not be problems for other people and they have every right to not care about your problem and to disagree and think there is not a problem there at all.
There has yet to be anyone on these forums who has said this game has no issue.
You have two groups of people:
People who are upset and come to vent here.
And.
People who are aware that the game has problems and continue about their business, maintaining emotional stability and either finding something they enjoy in the game to keep doing or (as I have done on several occasions) taking a break from the game.

I donāt. Your argument is that deterministic gear doesnāt work because of the Azerite system thatās only existed in this single expansion, when it worked since the gameās launch previous to it. Youāre speaking nonsense, and offhandedly quoting me doesnāt magically create a situation where anything youāve said is true.

There is still deterministic gearing though. Thereās just so many additional avenues for people to get gear now that they think itās only rng on top of rng instead of just being complementary. I still have a bis list of items from raids and dungeons. If I happen to get another piece of loot from some other source that increases my dps I donāt think thatās bad. Iām still going to target my bis pieces.

There is never going to be a system entirely without RNG. It has never happened in the game before.
Because Bellular is trying to sell his own game with all the āgood faithā and vomiting āindustry reportsā SIX times a week.
Ever since Bellular touted himself at being āan Indy Developerā (eventhough he hasnāt produced the game yet, but whatever gets his ego going), heās been riding the wagon of public opionion so heavily the wagon needed skids instead of wheels.
Hereās the whole point of Titan Forging and Corruption:
Get good gear by playing what you like instead of hunting for specific gear to play the things you like.
Is it perfect? No. But there will come a time when gear is irrelevant, usually M+ 12-15 gear or Mythic Raid Gear. Itās literally up to the player to decide if they want to min/max themselves to death or simply look at their gear and say āIām goodā.
