I just deleted and reinstalled the game. I told it to use my ssd drive. Toward the end of the install I noticed it selected my SATA drive to install wow on.
Of course the lag was horrible so I’ll try again. You might want to check if the game did this to you too. If an ssd is required why would the installer put it on the wrong drive.?
It did obey my instructions to install the battle net app on the ssd drive but there’s a place in that app to select where to install the game. So another uninstall and reinstall to see if this is what buggered my wow game so badly.
I should have double checked if it was using the correct drive.

WoW on SSD improves performance across the board.

I’ve got nothing but SSDs in my system I tried doing what the GM said and it didn’t work I am attempting a clean reinstall of wow, hopefully this works because i really cant do ToP at all basically
Sorry you’re going through all that but you didn’t have to do another uninstall and reinstall.
You can physically move the WoW folder from one drive to the other, then go to Bnet and adjust the location that Bnet is looking for when you launch the game. And if you feel something got corrupted, you can fix the folder rather than doing a fresh install.
Less time consuming.
I’d also recommend taking a look at Nvidias graphics update from February. That one was broken and really messed a lot of people’s games. You either had to restore to the older, or now update to the March one that released a few days ago.

If i would have selected the game settings in the battle net app first before trying to reinstall and changed the folder to the correct drive It would have worked, crossing my fingers.
It was also strange that the download is 107 gb but after uninstalling much more space than 107 gb free’d up on the ssd drive. Perhaps I had accidently took too many screen shots.
Thanks for the heads up I will check that as well. The game was unusable and getting worse. Not even loading text properly.
Edit: It’s not quite done installing but it is writing the data to the ssd drive now.
Edit: It’s working fine so far. I tried it before and after reinstalling the nvidia graphics driver. It must have been trying to swap files between the 2 drives before I did the clean game reinstall. No addons yet but I don’t suspect those will be any trouble.
Thanks again all for the help.
