I Made the Decision to Quit

…Smoking.

It’s been around a month and a half actually. The first week was a little rough, but now there’s no cravings, not even the slightest desire for one. In fact, picking up that smell on other people around me that still do has been heightened and I always think “man, was that me??”
My clothes smell better, I feel way better, I’m not waking up in the morning hacking, coughing and gagging. Dumbest thing I ever did was start, smartest, albeit 20 some years later was quit.

Now as far as the game, what do I want to do this evening?
Work on this char and do some flightstone and crest farming and work on those vault rows? Or play on an alt? I know I’ve got that other Druid I’ve been trying to get levelled so I’ve got another chance per week on that runebear, which I’ve gotten a little aggravated with. I’ll figure it out. I’ll give it another half hour or so and see what I feel like doing when the load screen comes up.

Have a pleasant evening all!

Maybe you can start saving money on insurance now.

I’ve heard other former-smokers say exactly this and all I can answer is: “unfortunately, yes… that was you.” But it won’t be you anymore!

The interesting thing is, I’m old enough to remember when smoking was still allowed almost everywhere. I have never been a smoker myself, but people would even light up even, for example, in church! Then I remember as the laws changed and first it wasn’t allowed one place, then not allowed another place, then it was not indoors in public buildings at all, then even more it’s moving to not allowed within X number of feet of a door of a public building. I used to never even notice people smoking near me. As it started to be increasingly banned, I remember how quickly I started to notice if anyone anywhere vaguely in my vicinity lit up. Speaking as a non-smoker, it’s nice to have it gone. So I super-extra applaud you!

For what to do… This feels like a goof around with alts night! Look at your alts all staring at you with big, shiny, pixelated eyes, hoping they will be picked to get to run and play!! Make your alts happy!

My work charges like 4x more for insurance for smokers. And that’s in addition to not permitting smoking anywhere on company property, even the parking lots. You have to leave the property entirely.

Having never done it myself, but also having known smokers throughout my life…yeah they don’t realize what’s happening to them. They’re always sick, but they don’t realize it because they literally forget what it feels like to not be sick, and to have a sense of smell or taste.

The OP’s reaction is the same as everyone I’ve known that quit. “Wow, I feel so different, is this how I’m supposed to feel?” There is no such thing as a healthy smoker.

you can do it.

not that hard.

Congratulations! The 1st 6 months are the worst. In terms of actual addiction withdrawals it’s the first 30 days that are the worst. However you’ll spend the next 6 months trying to figure out what to do with your hands.

RIGHT ON BUDZ!..B treats the customer like feces ALL they care about is the $$$$$$ and ZERO ethics…I’m done too as soon as the sub is over I’ll NEVER come back to this pile of Ogre dung.

ALL the TIME and MONEY being DUPED into believing in fairness and balance wasted for a harsh lesson about a rotted to the core corrupted company leaders. I guess that’s about the only thing I can thank B for in the end of the day after ALL is said and done.

In my rage and anger/disgust I generally don’t wish ILL will for others throughout life but in this company’s case and especially the CEO/decision makers and specifically those in charge of the PVP Battleground content I hope they ALL go belly up in the boneyard…sooner the better.

One of the things you could do is take the money you would otherwise spend on whatever it was you were smoking and save it up for about a year.

See how much extra you have. It’s eye opening.

you should go to the doctor and get yourself checked out 20 years is a while and smoking for that long could lead to cancer
