I made a new combat system for roleplayers! Check it out!

Hey Roleplayers!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve just wrapped up development on a brand-new combat system, designed specifically for roleplayers like you!
Check it out here:

What is Adventurer?

Adventurer is a dice-based combat system crafted for roleplayers. After over a year of development and collaboration with the community, I’ve drawn inspiration from a wide range of techniques, ideas, and challenges encountered in world-building and combative roleplay.

While some systems excel in certain areas, they’re often inaccessible to a broader audience or too simplistic to offer meaningful creative control. Adventurer bridges that gap—providing a system that’s easy to learn while offering enough depth and competitive edge to inspire growth and creativity in roleplay.

Key Features

Better Character Representation:
Adventurer’s trait system flows naturally in combat, allowing players to showcase their character’s strengths and feel the impact of their abilities in battle.

Dynamic Leveling:
As you engage in roleplay and use the system, your character grows and evolves. Their abilities and skills reflect their successes, but failure isn’t without consequence—losing battles can impact your character’s progression too!

Seamless World Integration:
Adventurer adapts easily to World of Warcraft’s NPCs, making dungeons, raids, world encounters, and events more immersive and accessible. Whether adventuring alone or with friends, you can tailor your story the way you want it told.

Note from Essi:
Hey there, by the way, I’m Essi!
This is my first post in the forums, but I’ve been part of the Moon Guard community for quite some time now. I’m really excited to bring you this system, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know a lot of you while developing it!
If you have any questions, comments, critiques – or you just want to say hello, please feel free to post!

Thanks, and have a great day!

We already have a commonly used combat system. The Warcraft Conquest system.

Surely! I’ve spent a little bit of time with it.

There’s no limitation on creativity, however! While Conquest works, I found the system to be difficult for newer players to adapt to!

There’s no perfect system. But I wanted to create something that would be adaptable and resourceful!

Really, because I’m a player than never even played any table top game and it was a lot more simple than most systems I’ve seen guilds try, it just made sense to me.

Hey! That does give us something in common. Until I really started working on this project, I rarely dabbled in any tabletop RPGs myself! There are a lot of systems with a lot of different great ideas.

If it helps, I can break down a bit of some of the guidelines I placed for myself when creating this project so you can get a better feel for what my overall goal has been.

Of course, I highly recommend at least checking the system out and even giving it a try for yourself!
It’s built to easily jump into - whether you’re with a party or on your own! It’s also open source enough, that players can build it into whatever community of their choosing: Guilds, Communities, Discord, or heck – you could even use it for tabletop if you really wanted to!
