Jesus I get one rogue on me and if he’s halfway competent I’m dead. I’m sure it’s somewhat better at 120, but holy moley I have to put up with this to even have a chance then? No thanks. I’m just very frustrated right now
Yeah rogues seem to counter us pretty hard, but I’m not going to lie, all the memes I can pull off with Thunderstorm and Lighting Lasso really make me love my shaman. I’ve been having a lot of fun, even if I spend a lot time running around in Ghost Wolf lol
Edit: I’m excited to hit max level because I think my shaman will shine in epic battlegrounds. They never pop for me at low levels but I think they’ll be more fun.

Sometimes the class you pick to main does cause stress. Ret is countered by mages/rogues - which is about 50%+ the playerbase in arenas. Feelscrippledman

roll ret or a warrior and you will be much happier shamans arnt that great for pvp.
Shamans are pretty bad when they’re targetted. I see them more as a support DPS. They have great utility and control, and some solid burst. But if you’re getting sat on as Ele you’re not generating any maelstrom and end up fairly weak in a fight because of it.

Low level bgs are horrible training grounds for newbies.

What other choice do they have for pvp though? It’s not like guild wars 2 where you instalevel to max level and get to practice with all abilities, etc.

They could start by slowing down the damage to be more reflective of max level.

Low level BGs are a right of passage for any new characters. It’s only preparing you for the gear gap you’ll face when you hit 120.

Rogues are a hard counter but you are not running into Rogues in 1-1 scenario all the time …
Not all … I have seen some Ele who are amazing at 1-1 . Anticipating where / when to drop totems, purging at the right times and then bursting to kill. But ya it’s rare.
Unless you are a rogue, or warrior, or feral Druid, or ww monk, or ret. but ya besides those maybe you right
Rogues atleast the sin spec is pretty bad till you get to around 80… at like 50 and below , it’s literally a free kill for every caster class including shamans !!
I wasn’t talking 1v1, more just in the midst of a BG. If someones sitting on you its difficult to help everyone else out.
Enhancement main from vanilla here. Ive always leveled and geared my shaman first, then my rogue. Until this expansion.
I know shaman are weak atm, and for my rogue, pretty easy kills. I die a little on the inside everytime i kill an enhance too.
I guess youre Ele, but honestly there havent been many Eles that have given me trouble.

Buddy, when you get into that situation you gotta have one of the big boys come in to handle this little minuscule problem such as a ROG. You just keep your pretty little neck out of danger, and go lasso up a Boomchicken.
I would suggest a Retribution Paladin, because they will live up to their name, and when you die, it won’t be in vain. Retribution will be served for the pain you’ve been dealt.
meh. you can get 385 in a day with new zone and at 385 the scaling is pretty good.
Are you just blowing off steam?
If not, I think you should consider why you chose to level a shaman. If it was for anything other than an appreciation for the things that are unique to shaman, such as totems or ghost wolf or their three-role capability then I would suggest you quit now and reroll
If you just chose them because you saw lasso pwning people you’ll not end up happy.
Funny enough, I never knew lasso was so op. I randomly choose it one day because I needed a stun, and I was shocked it did so much damage
