I loved the resounding silence at Earthen Allied race

Yea, but the counter-proof is the “secret panda relaxation area” from Warcraft 3.

Samwise had a “fixation” on pandas, as the wiki describes it, and the whole thing ended up being a joke that just went too far.

Yupp.
And as I said, I don’t really understand why the idea seems so strange to some people that Blizzard borrows ideas from other media… because they’ve always done that. I mean, maybe it was just a coincidence that the Pandaren became playable right after the Kung Fu Panda hype. Either way, it’s not really something to get upset about when you look at all the other things Blizzard has copied almost exactly. And they’re not alone in this. Other companies do it too. :dracthyr_shrug:

Silence for Earthern.

While when Midnight makes Quel’dorei finally playable these forums will be on fire by the loud, minority Elf haters.

High Elves will become a reality in WoW to be playable.

It is inevitable.

:surfing_woman: :surfing_man:

Technically you can be a playable High Elf right now with the right customization. Like how we have playable Man’ari.

Exactly. Void Elves just need their own new and unique customization options, like the other three Legion races, and that should be enough.
There’s no need to release a third thalassian elf recolor. It would undoubtedly be more popular than Dwarves, who are hardly played anyway, but it would still look incredibly cheap, like so much else in this game…

Certainly more interesting than a cheap third dwarf copy, but without a solid body, I don’t really think it’s suitable as a playable race.

But we have five flavors of elves.

Goblins still need a genetic offshoot allied race. Like the Gilblins.

Not really.
We have Night Elves twice, three times if you count Zandalari.
We also have Thalassian Elves twice.

Goblins, we actually have only once, since Vulpera are a separate race.
It’s still strange that they chose Vulpera instead of Gilgoblins as a counterpart to Diaper Gomes, although Vulpera are, of course, much more creative.

Also from WC3 was Chen Stormstout who was referenced in Vanilla. As horde players could find some of his kegs around the Barrens and bring them to an orc in Ratchet. Who says that Chen gave a special recipe to his mentor, who then passed it to him.

Pandaren being canonical was a thing long before MoP

Cope and seethe.

Wait why would the Zandalari count as Night Elves beyond the male Zandalari using the male NE skeleton? Unless that is the reason, which is really stupid imo. Zandalari predate the Night Elves lorewise.

That’s why I wrote ‘Unless you count the Zandalari.’ Yes, it referred to the Night Elf model being recycled three times. But of course, it can hardly be compared to something as incredibly lazy as three recolored copy&paste versions of dwarves. They just added some rainbow pimples to their skin, made them a few percent larger, and then tried to present them as a brand new race and expansion feature, which is just embarrassing. At least the Zandalari still look like a distinct race. The same goes for the Vulpera.

… how are you gonna confuse a dwarf and an earthen? Ones made of rock.

If it looks like a dwarf, acts like a dwarf and is called a dwarf during Blizzcon by the devs

… it’s save to assume it is a dwarf.

The user in question was not quite knowledgeable when it comes to the wow races, so please forgive her naivete. The Earthen are just dwarves in a new body type (read: height), with new textures and barber shop assets.

I’ve been quiet because I am listening to see if they sound “crunchy” when they move.

Yupp.
This also reminds me of how outdated this game is when it comes to customization options. Different body sizes have been standard in games for over a decade. But in WoW, things like that are somehow still uncharted territory, even in 2024. sigh

Dracthyr visage is an elf. number 5.

As for Vulpera? I will never see them as an allied race. They are a new race since they haven’t been seen before. And most of the time when an allied race is unlocked the story with them had the race that is related to them. Vulpera where set up to work with everyone being more of a new race kinda vibe with their unlock quest.

We had a nice set up to have gilblins during the Nazjatar adventure but i think they chose vulpera cause they saw a lot of people clamoring for them over anything else.

Gilblins wouldn’t be played. They are the Mechagnomes of the Horde, a waste of AR-slot.

Unfortunately the Horde-bias towards race diversity on Team Red only ruined it a lot for the Alliance-players.

didn’t answer the question

It did. And if you used common sense, you would have realized that they use the same model and even the same voice samples from the Dwarven NPCs.
