I love Skyriding

That’s it basically. I love it and have been anxiously awaiting it since I heard they were going to do it. Dragonflying was one of my favorite things about the whole Dragonflight expansion, and now I can do it on all my flying mounts, AND my druid’s flight form. I am so pleased.

And I don’t even have to go to a town to switch between it and pokey old boring flying, if I want to creep along for some reason. I had thought that was the plan and I’m so happy it’s not.

Anyway, just wanted to make an appreciation post so the only voices being heard won’t be the negative ones.

I also want the devs to know that I love sky riding and to thank them for putting it into the game.

Ditto. They managed to turn a mundane but useful transportation method and actually make it fun and engaging. I love it.

Not a fan of the toggle. Seems like the worst possible way to implement. But yeah, skyriding is aight.

Agreed. Let’s face it, Sky Riding is just Dragon Riding rebranded. It just makes all current mounts but maybe a few, fly as if they were limited dragon riding mounts from Dragon Flight.

The current system in DF worked fine for the ability to have both fast and slow mounts on the task bar. But instead, we use a toggle to make it all or nothing without consideration that was in the previous expansion had in place. Maybe it was a coding issue or just being lazy but to not allow both modes still going forward is a dis-service to people that enjoyed both.

Limited how? Skyriding is literally the same system, but for every mount instead of a few.

I enjoy the skyriding as well. I’m excited to be able to use all my mounts again and see how funny they look zipping through the sky lmao

My only complaint is the toggle…and that it takes 5 seconds to switch. Seems only logical that it should be instant and could be usable mid-flight.

Limited, in that Dragon Flight expansion only had about 6-10 mounts that could “sky ride” at the super-fast pace. All other mounts would fly at the slow-mount speed.

Instead of designating more mounts from the slow-mount speed to be able to fast-mount we use a toggle that is an all or nothing. Not everyone enjoys fast mounts, and a group of the players only enjoy fast mount. I personally had both on my taskbar based on what I would be doing. Now the option to have both on my bar is pointless. I am forced to travel either all slow or all fast.

The mount that I enjoyed can’t use the fast-mount toggle when toggled; they revert to ground mounts even though in Dragon Flight, they were able to fly and came from the Dragon Flight expansion questing in Ohn’ahran Plains. So, I now have to toggle the slow speed on for it to fly now which then makes the Dragon Riding mount I had look stupid and fake.

Preach it… I love the new flying. I spent like 30 mins last night just cycling through my mounts on favorite seeing how they fly.

I enjoyed Skyriding in Flight Form on my Druid this morning and look forward to using it on other mounts all throughout The War Within and beyond. Good riddance, slow-as-molasses air swimming! You will not be missed.

That doesn’t explain how they’re “limited dragon riding mounts”.

The Ohn’ara’s Kiss or whatever it is mount that transforms you into a bird is 10/10 peak skyriding.

Ok, maybe I am not articulating this correctly. In Dragon Flight we had only certain “Dragon Flight mounts” that could fly fast. This would be a limited selection of mounts available to the players. Any and all other mounts where slow travel.

Instead of adding to the pool of those “limited mounts” at the time they add a toggle that is all or nothing. Re-brand it as Sky Riding because now it encompasses all mounts, not just a limited selection of Dragon centric.

  • Sorry typing is starting to hurt my hand with the amputations so I will bow out and not finish my thoughts. Goodluck have fun and enjoy.

I also love skyriding. There was a time where I wasn’t great but it just takes practice really. Folks say it’s impossible to pinpoint a spot and land with precision but I don’t find that to be true at all.

I wish I could do the races on my dracthyr or druid in their winged forms instead of using a mount, though.

I haven’t tried it yet but can you race with the “transform” mounts like Ohn’ara and Tarecgosa? That seems like it’d be fun.

Skyriding is a great addition and a nice option for people who do like it. What I’m not liking though is the 5 second channel on the toggle. What’s the purpose of that and why would a lower channel time or even an instant cast be a bad thing?

Same. Skyriding is great. I’m glad to see they embraced flying instead of treating it like a burden to the game.

dragon riding is good and im glad they added it to more mounts, but i really just need the option to leave my druid flight form as normal flying and my mounts as dragon riding style mounts.
it was much more fun and conveinent to have my instant normal flying flight form and then switch to a dragon riding mount if i wanted dragon riding.

now im forced to land and wait 6 seconds, so for me this new system is a downgrade and is inferior to the options before. when anyone could instantly change from a flying mount to a dragon riding mount.

it seems like making a toggle on the mount would have been a better option so you can decide which mounts you want to dragon ride on and which you want to normal ride on.

it would be nice if they embraced flying and unlocked regular flying from the start but thats a diff topic.

i do enjoy dragon riding when i need it, but also half the time i enjoy normal flying when im playing
options=good
