Look at the bright side, you can /glare at all your teammates when that poison volley or AoE fear cast still goes through.
While the blame game can be funny, you still just wiped and lost 3 minutes of your timer (75 on death timer and the rest on run back).
And the cherry on top is, you saw it coming. The game just wouldn’t let you interact with it’s mechanics.
No, it legitimately sucks…I’m a big proponent of the idea you need balancing for M+ which includes a much more even distribution of utility.
Were it up to me, I’d have given priests their own interrupt and brez back when M+ first came out in Legion.
It’s almost like there’s 4 other people there with you who all have an interrupt.
Yes, how silly for the support role to expect to have a critical support tool,. It’s madness I say, madness! Sheep lying down with wolves and gender-confused frogs!!
Cats and dogs living together, Mass hysteria!
Brez to the spec that literally their description says “Heals beyond the grave”? Sir you are out of your mind, that’s absolutely unacceptable and it sounds like you don’t play with other people around you.
Watch your tongue before trying to ask for updates on the priest toolkit, in fact lets remove leap of faith, too much mobility to your team.
The fact that you can see a Blood Elf Priestess in the original Burning Crusade cinematic combat rezzing an Orc… like…
Really sad combat rez went to Paladins when they already have so many random tools as it is.
People hate to be gripped by Leap of Faith. If it’s not a premade and you specifically assign it somewhere so people know it’s coming, people lose their freaking mind over it.
I have had people wisper me to not grip them again.
I had premade teammates in Discord tell me to stop using it they have enough mobility and it just messes with them.
So not only is it bad for our mobility, people actively hate being yanked.
And the best part is evoker got the way better version of it.
Edit: I wish they halved feather duration but doubled the speed bonus. I am not even opposed to be the zoomies caster.
But currently it’s way to slow to be useful.
What’s funny is that when I am not playing on my Priest, I get the same reaction when I get gripped by a Priest as I really didn’t need or want it to happen because like you said, it messes with me and I have the tools to do what I need to do without Leap of Faith being used on me.
The only time I don’t get messed up is if I am not used to a mechanic that knocks you off the platform and to your death but a Priest was able to grip me before that happens. But that is a very niche situation and more so for a Priest to both take notice and able to react fast enough to actually make that save successfully.
If someone whispered me not to grip them after I pulled them out of something (or INTO something beneficial), I’d just reply ‘then position better.’
I rarely use the spell unless it will specifically save someone, move them over something bad, or will help them catch up to the group running somewhere (and to be fair there’s a decent chunk you can save people from this season of M+). It doesn’t interrupt casting so “it’s messing me up!” isn’t really a concern on most boss fights unless you had to target swap a lot. And if you were standing there till the VERY LAST SECOND before something like the breath from NW’s second boss hits you, or you’re not standing in Rime dagger as it goes out, etc. You’re getting yanked. IMO, play better if you’re getting upset about it.
Literally, no one likes to be griped lmao.
And I totally forgot evoker had a version of leap of faith.
wtf man EVOKER HAS Leap of faith too on top of mobility, defensives, better hps, interrupt, better dispels. jesus this is driving me insane
For better or worse (personally I say worse) interrupting–a lot–has become a life or death pass/fail mechanic all over the game. At this point (since a long time, really) it is objectively incorrect game design for any spec not to have access to it. Like this person said so well in the mobility thread:
Blizzard is unbelievably bad at using simple solutions to fix simple problems. Their obsession with “unique and different” is why some specs have to jump through hoops to do stuff others can just by pressing a button or two. If they could ever exercise common sense and realize “homogenization” is not the mortal enemy so many have been brainwashed into thinking it is, overall balance would be miles better than it is now.
Not just leap of faith, but the strictly better version that repositions themselves aswell.
Rescue is like a taunt towards priests.
They homogenize the wrong things I think is a fair way to put it. Like back when all healers had “Fast expensive Heal” and “Long cheap Heal” instead of any kind of class flavor. And then they DON’T homogenize on things like equal mobility across the board or defensive cds.
We know they leave priest’s tools bad because of PvP primarily and, to a lesser degree, negligence. They’ve said it themselves.
Angelic Feather was nerfed from 80% to 40% because of PvP. Spectral Guise didn’t come back because of PvP. Shining Force was removed because of PvP. Priest doesn’t have a kick because of PvP. Priest doesn’t have real CC because of PvP. Priest doesn’t have displacement because of PvP.
But there’s other layers, too. They admitted that priest was rushed and unfinished before Dragonflight’s launch and promised to revisit the class, but they never did. Yes, they removed Mind Sear. Yes, they rolled Schism and Shadow Covenant into other abilities. They didn’t revisit their design and refine it in any way.
Look at the forum posts from 10.1 and 10.2 where, after Blizzard said “shadow/discipline reworks this patch!”, and everyone was collectively underwhelmed, asking why changing 3 insignificant talents and reducing button bloat, but not playstyle or class capabilities, was considered a rework.
tl;dr: We know that Blizzard has deliberately kneecapped priest in PvE because of its capabilities in PvP, but they’re not willing to balance it separately or rework the class so that they don’t have to. They also have failed to revisit the class and address 97% of the Dragonflight feedback after admitting it was an unfinished rush job simply to get the class to a bare minimum standard for 10.0. They were simply too busy doing their 3rd full talent tree revision and iteration for mage and paladin.
There is quite literally no other class in this game that can’t interrupt. Remove your head from your bum and heed basic logic.
Man. Blizzard can’t even just hacksaw mindbomb, Shadowlands era knockback and silence into the class tree.
It’s so over.
