I liked Ungoro crater! But I grew up with A Land Before Time so I’m very biased! The giant tyranno stalking the zone is a nice touch too
I honestly like how World of Warcraft looks, it looks nice and clear and it’s not too hard on my eyes.
Well I’m rich so I can afford all the monitors in the government military headquarters so I say make it happen
Or they could add a toggle option like they have in D2 Resurrected. It’s win-win for everybody!
I have to admit that while the graphics are ok, I have seen other people on YouTube that have created WoW areas in different game engine and I will admit it looks much better than what we have now.
Blizzard should hire these people and switch engines.
I do know this would take a tremendous amount of work and Blizzard does not have the staff to do it.
I am ready!!
I am not one who cares for graphics but have you played any mmo besides wow lately, WoW is pretty much just one step above runscape these days mmo wise
World of Warcraft mocks their hardware more often than vice versa.
Hot take: Blizzards graphics team are either really lazy or consist of like 1 guy and his intern now.
I say this because graphically Blizz seems to take every shortcut it can.
I don’t mean the fidelity of graphics, I mean they take the easiest path they can and only do work if they have to:
- Most armor is the same models we’ve had since Vanilla but reskinned
- There’s no new hair/faces/accessories even though they can be banged out in a hour or two by an amateur
- Every new npc or player race is just an old one with a new skin/head
- Double for animals
- When they had to make an actual new one (Kul Tirans) it took like a year and it’s still unfinished
- It took until WoD to update the races and only because not even “cartoony” graphics could hide their age at that point
- Most zone content is ancient now
- They hold back player weapons so they don’t have to make new ones for enemies (ever wonder what happened to Ulduar weapons? It was literally that.)
- the list goes on
I mean… for a game that old, WoW is just fine. But there are some things related to graphics where I wouldn’t call WoW “way better” at all. I would even call it much worse than other games.
Just look at the clipping issues with gear and hair styles. It’s been 18 years and eyebrows from elves are still clipping through helmets and hoods. A lot of hair styles still look terrifying with fancy shoulder pieces or open head pieces because of clipping. We still can’t wear hats without the hair disappearing. And the equipment also haven’t changed. No new cloak designs. Robes are still just the same straight tubes with different painting and sometimes some small 3D clutter glued on.
