I lost the plot

So Im a 35 human Markmanship hunter (big fun).

Little dissappointed to find that I dont get a pet, but the marksmanship is fun, so no complaints.

I just wrapped up in Booty bay, and I seem to have lost the plot. There are no new quests to lead me out.

Where should I go next?

you can talent out of the bird for a pet

go to stormwind, theres a quest board in trade center that should give you a good idea where to go next, or you can open your dungeon journal and there should be options on where to go next there
