I Lost 19 Rating After Winning 5/6 Rounds In Solo Shuffle

I Lost 19 Rating After Winning 5/6 Rounds In Solo Shuffle. I was around 2100 and got put into a 1900 game, won 5 round and lost 19 rating? The other healer was 1100, won 1 round and gained 192 rating.

Not to mention 3 hours of grinding and getting 0 increase rating every game after going 4/6 or 5/6 a few games because it consistently puts me in lower MMR matches.

Maybe don’t lose to 1100 healers?

the 1100 healer is a multi glad that grind his evoker gear.

The rating system is broken doesn’t take rocket science to see it.

i’ve heard that placement games will fix this when the season starts. but who knows if it’ll still be buggy.

its probably going to be a bumpy road for a while using solo shuffle, and this actually is probably the major reason you can’t get glad in solo shuffle yet. because the game mode probably wont be fully optimized until maybe a while.

Yeah let’s expect this person to carry all 6 rounds when there’s 4 other dps in the game who can totally throw

Yeah the rating system isn’t broken. It has always worked this way during an “off-season.” This is due to how the first 10 placement games work:

Since no one was able to play placement games during an active season, the system locks you into permanent placement matches. In other words, MMR does not work unless you already played 10 games prior to it going into off-season.

Since solo shuffle was released during off season this the intended result. MMR will work normally again when S1 releases.

I gained 17 rating from going 1-5 against players all similar cr to me. MMR’s definitely weird rn.

How do i? I don’t think blizzard lets screen shot or links here.

Yes it is weird I gain more rating fighting lower cr. But when I fight people my cr I gain like 7 rating from winning 3/4 rounds. And then after that lose a sh** ton for losing the next game lol

Why did they lose the other 5 rounds then

MMR is pretty wacky and the CR distribution is too. Games that are 5 people over 2k and one person at 1600, all with the same MMR. Matches end with nobody getting CR no matter how many games they win. Or the people over 2k lose a ton of rating because they lost even 1 round to the person with 1600 CR. Lots of stuff to figure out still with how the ladder works and it’s kind of scary we are just about 3 weeks away from S1 starting.

I stopped playing solo shuffle after a similar experience, mind me, at a much lower CR.

As a lower rating of around 1600-1800, I can agree MMR is messed up. I’ve had several games now where ive won 4 rounds and received zero rating, then other rounds where winning 3 rounds out of 6 meant I somehow lost 50 rating

I guess no one is reading all of the SoloQ posts, Im not sure how many times I have to post this but I’ll do it again:

During off-season you cannot get “placed” by placement games, unless you already did your 10 placement games prior to the season ending.

This means that you will be permanently locked to placement games during the off-season on mains/alts/new characters that did not participate during the regular season. What does that mean? It means that all games queued will essentially ignore MMR and place you against the first available opponents in no particular order and without discrepancy, for all intents and purposes MMR simply does work until placement games are completed.

Since solo shuffle was not released until the off-season started, everyone is locked to placement games and MMR does not matter for picking opponents, only for calculating how many points you will gain or lose. No one is able to finish placement, thus you see 2100cr+ players against 0cr players.

So yes, it’s technically “broken” but that’s because of how it is intentionally coded to work. It is not a mistake and it is not a bug. This issue will resolve itself when S1 DL starts.

this is still going on. just went 5-1 and only got 9 rating. whole lobby was low rating mmr was higher than my rating

This is generally a problem with alts that affects more than RSS.

The question is, does Blizzard try to fix it and how so?

Try climbing the ladder in either 2s or 3s, nearly every other game is multi-glad alts at low MMR.

Should there be some sort of MMR tether based on highest rated character that season that affects alts?
