Because why should I enable all the rep grinders who just stand around and do nothing to try to win? Let all those turn-ins burn, the less rep they get per game the less likely they are to come back.

The only choice we have here is to turn in or not turn in. I choose to not reward the people who aren’t making an effort. If people don’t like that then Blizzard can fix AV.

The game will drag out as long as it takes to get those druid hand ins done. With or without your turn ins. What’s not going to happen is they will not attempt to advance south.

If you really wanted to screw up rep grinders
…and let’s be honest, you really can’t. You could purposefully speed up hordes March north. Making the match end before they can get any turn ins.
But I’m guessing that’s not what you are after, is it? And neither is horde for that matter.
If horde wanted to screw up rep grinders they could stealth in and kill the druids preventing hand ins but then the rep grinders will just afk out…which would completely end the match which isn’t what horde want either. They want a semi long match as well because they waited and hour or two to get into this one.
If a mass of rep grinders afked out to be replaced by new rep grinders who would afk out the moment they noticed the druids were gone it would be cause the alliance to not have many players playing the match to oppose the horde.
Making it a cake walk to van. And you’d be stuck in there watching that from the starting cave.

What happens if they try to win instead of doing reputation turn ins? They still lose but get little or no honor or reputaion. The map is stacked against alliance so let players get what they can out of the crappy bg.
I have thought it through and come to similar conclusions that you have. You’re right, the rep grinders hold most of the cards here. However, I don’t have to enable them.
If I kill an enemy I can leave the body and someone else might loot it. After doing that enough they will leave the front lines to turn in rather than continuing to fight. If I loot it then they will have to stay on the front lines for longer before they get enough to leave them.
Even if they are just standing around to loot and not fighting then at least they are cannon fodder to take attacks while I fight. By looting I keep them there and by not turning in I also don’t take a break from the front lines.
So, I loot and I don’t turn in. It’s the best I can do in this situation
You haven’t thought this through.
You are trying to impose your motivations to be their own. Or to line up with yours.
You won’t win that fight. You will instead remain frustrated. What you want is for them to compete with you to win the map. That’s never going to be the case given the environment of that map and the que times of horde and alliance.
Wanna solve your problem? Come to accept that reality and stop queing up for AV.
Go play in an environment that lines up with your own. Premades in AB or WSG are you home. That’s where you should play. Even pug AB and WSG would be more suited to you.
But you will likely come back with something asinine like “but I want to play large scale pvp”.
Well…I’d like this social distancing crap to be over with. Sometimes you can’t have what you want. Either accept that and move on or stay frustrated bashing your head against the wall as people in the map you choose to play don’t want to play it the way you want them too.

Well if your alternative is to intentionally drag down them, and the people who ARE trying, then yes, you do the turn ins. Sure you’re doing a great job trolling the leaches… but you’re also trolling the people who are trying.

I especially won’t win the fights if I stop fighting. I enjoy trying to win AV and I’ll do what I can to encourage others to stay on the front lines. Sure, those people are still going to do nearly nothing and I can’t stop them from that. However, by looting and not turning in I can curb some of the excesses and not contribute to the problem.
If we win then we get a nice jolt of rep and honor. If we try and are thrown back then I can turn in without taking much time from the battle. However, I won’t pause in the middle of battle to head back and turn in and I won’t turn in if we collapse without trying to fight.
Of course, the only ones that can really do something about all of this is Blizzard but they clearly have no intention of fixing the broken situation.
