Has anyone found a use for void storage?
I have never used it, so I am not sure exactly what it does.

Back before transmogs were given the collection tab I used to place my physical transmog pieces in there. I havenāt put anything else in there since.
But void elves get a discount for void storage, so thatās neat.

Itās a relic of a time when you needed a physical copy of an item to transmog it.
It serves no purpose in the current game, but getting rid of it could be tricky so they just donāt.

The restrictions on void storage have always been so burdensome that I havenāt touched it for years. I have some old stuff in there thatās for ānostalgiaā value, but nothing I actually āneedā. Iād love to get the various not-deletable legendaries that are cluttering up my bank in there, but they are not allowed.

I have like legion legendaries and stuff I kept for cosmetic purposes before they were made moggable

I tried to put legion legendaries in void storage back in the day and it wouldnāt let me.

The others have answered, but not much now.
When it was implemented was before the collections tab existed, and you had to keep any item that you would want to transmog onto something else, so you would have bags or banks full of items to use for transmog. Void storage gave you a space to put some of those so they didnāt fill up your bags or bank with them and transmog from there, so it was nice at the time.
Post collections tabs existance, it is pretty much pointless other then giving a few slots you can put a limited number of things into to not take up bag & bank slots.

My old legendaries ā from MoP and earlier ā were already in there, but sometime around Legion, they changed thatā¦ and I didnāt know. I pulled out the MoP cloak for Timewalking, and was shocked to discover that I couldnāt put it back in!
So the cloak has been sitting in my bank with my Legion-and-forward legendaries.

What makes me laugh is that WOW managed to fix the issue with Mog storage by getting rid of the need to keep every bit of gear stored somewhere, and keeping track of sets which is great for collectors like me.
Yet Ff14 refuses to do the same and leads to one of the worst āglamā systems for gearā¦ever. Itās annoying, you have limited room despite the fact that they added 2 new jobs in the expansion, and they just donāt seem to care enough to improve it or even copy what WOW did with theirs.
I couldnāt find matching pants so I just gave up
