When I returned to WoW a 6 month break, for some reason I chose to turn trade & general back on. I was greeted with a surprise: people were actually friendly in trade chat. there were very few toxic jerks.
Then DF started and all the toxicity returned. Not right away but slowly over a month or so.
This last weekend I’d finally had enough (again) and left the channel.
This made me curious: how many people here no longer use the trade channel?
leave /4 download badboy block certain words and you wont ever see spam inTrade chat again
I don’t know, since DF launched it seems like trade chat has been used more for actual trade that it ever had been in the game’s history. I don’t know how you can even find the toxicity in the constant advertisement spam.
I play on Moonguard. Trade chat is basically a server Discord
i use trade channel but I have addons that block any form of advertising by blocking keywords.
I will check out my realms trade chat …most times its nothing but ads for runs…every so often someone will say something funny or good …I just basically ignore the chat…
I rarely ever look at chat…

I havent seen any of that chat in a long long long time and i dont have badboy blocking that either.
I’ve also noticed that trade seems to be trade-ish now. I’m on a pretty full server and there’s a lot of trolling about religion, politics, gender, sexuality. Nowhere near as much as it was before but I’m still seeing it.
I can’t put any examples here, of course. I might get banned 
People might also be getting confused with the new /4 or /5 what ever channel the ad channel is i leave that one instantly on all toons
I keep regular Trade in a different chat frame, it’s not completely terrible on my realms. Trade (Services) on the other hand is just pure spam, and I hated that they forced it into our chats when it was introduced. It screwed my chat settings up so badly that I had to reset everything to default and start over.
At one point I was advocating for another sub-trade channel. It could be called “Trade (trading)”
That way I could turn off services and regular trace but still see crafting things

To be clear:
I know how to clean it up. I just chose to forget it even exists 
I use it sometimes. It’s great for finding crafting stuff.
My realm is an RP server so it still occaisonally maintains those goofy conversations in trade chat. But I hardly ever use the ingame social aspects anymore. I haven’t been an active member of a guild in years. Im in a guild for the occasional group I might join.
I mostly socialize and find groups theough discord now adays. Its a way better form of communication anyway.
