I have been playing Destro for over a decade and I have been enjoying it this exp. but this kills it.
i got on my shadow priest and my mind is blown how easy it is to casually top damage, while on the lock it was hard but now this is just a terrible change and its impossible. Meanwhile warriors windwalkers and ret palys are doing INSANE damage in dungeons.
Im talking everyone is doing 3-4mill a pull and the abovce mentioned are doing 25mill. So “i know lets nerf warlocks”
Got my ret to 80, brain dead easy metric boat loads of damage. You could play just pressing shiny buttons and top the meters.
I cannot possibly believe the icd is intentional. Lost 300k dps on each of the bugged hero talents on all 3 specs
God they’re coming from Soul Harvester next. I know it. It plays too well, too smoothly, and the developers seem hell bent on altering play style rather than numbers (which is precisely why tuning knobs exist within the bloody hero talent trees!)

i have a great idea guys (snorts line of coke) lets add another layer of ramp time to a dot! so you can ramp while you ramp your ramp!

i suppose if thats the way you look at it. If you feel like a game should only be balanced when everyone is fully geared at the end of the season.

Well I’m no balance expert. But it one hundred percent shouldn’t be balanced around mobs dying in a fourth of the duration of many damage over time effects.
At the end of the day they should have just released warlock in this state. I mean isn’t that what beta testing is for? Also am I mistaken that in the beta they have raids where they measure this type of numbers and they could have made the appropriate changes before the live release based on that data?
At least we would have known that we sucked from the beginning and wouldn’t have wasted our time grinding for nothing
This mentality is not only awful, but not even accurate.
There are far more specs underneath affliction performance wise, than ahead of it.
There’s no shot you’re unironically pessimistic on warlock right now. All the available sims have them showing to be strong.
sims are before this “bug”… and ST lock top spec was below middle of the pack you call that strong?
Aff and demo were mid pack with sims BEFORE the nerf. Destro even further below that.
Tell me you dont play warlock without telling me.
Dummy damage is down drastically
Out of the 25 dps specs in the game, the pre nerf sims I have put warlock at 17 for aff, 18 for demo, and 24 for destruction.
These sims put warlock in the bottom half before the undocumented changes.
Edit: These changes have been fixed as they were not intended, according to a blue post on wowhead
Guys they are fixing it.
This makes me so sad. I wanted to play destro again. It’s my favorite spec and it’s hero talents looked so fun
