Then they should show off their actually savage races instead of making some random @$# pull lame version of goblins?
Also, the horde isn’t just fulled of savages…that was not a thing for Thrall’s horde.
This “savage goblin” idea… I don’t think Blizzard should bother. Just seems a waste of time and effort for something you can easily do yourself with transmog and a little creativity. Use the Blood Troll Transmog, wave a stick around, and RP in broken “Orcish” or what ever.
The Vulpera have that more wild, feral, experimental with tech but still rather primitive, nature type theme going on.
I like to think maybe they have a common ancestor… sort of like Mogwai and Gremlins…. but I don’t pretend it’s canon or anything. The Vulpera just remind me of Gizmo.
I will give you an example that I particularly enjoy :
The Zandalari Lunalai
The Zandalari have their own flavor of Druid. I wish my Zandalari Druid could swap the title of Archdruid he got in Legion for War Druid, since the Zandalari druids use that title. They have their own flavor of a lot of things - a well designed culture and history. Players have known them for years. They were popular as a choice for a Playable Race.
However… Blizzard did take the time to introduce the Lunalai - a sect of Zandalari Druids who revere Elune, while most of their society doesn’t even think she is a true Loa.
I think it is good when Blizzard goes a little deeper into the specific cultures…. in some cases. Trolls who revere Elune could use some further details. Savage Goblins? Just seems like a Goblin who got the wrong cocktail.
I think Blizzard leaning into the urban aesthetic is a good choice, because the Horde certainly isn’t lacking in “savage” racial themes, already.
I just don’t see much new stuff coming from this Goblin idea to even bother with.
I feel like the Lunalai still have unique vibes and share commonalities with other Zandalari. Making a non-greedy, non-technologically advanced goblins just strips their entire identity barring them being short and green.
How about if they’re still greedy, just in a more “Jump you and take your gold” than “Sell you something” way?
Maybe if they add witches (fingers crossed) you might get your hope, OP.
I wanted to say; that what the OP mention, reminds of goblins in magic the gathering
This is still lame but it’s significantly less lame than non-greedy goblins.
