I miss the HoA. Don’t get me wrong, it definitely had it fair share of issues especially when it was first introduced, but I think mid 8.3 it really got its chance to shine.
I honestly loved the essences and how you got to pick a new ‘power’ and the passives and you could shuffle them as you saw fit. I could actually try new builds and combos to see what I liked most and to suit the content I wanted to do - I found it infinitely more fun than our current talents. Unlocking the essences was also a fun little side thing that was not unwelcome (although some of them were really bloody hard to get).
Overall I think it was just a really cool thing, and I miss it. i kinda do hope we get something like it back in the future.

Agreed.
Covenant Abilities, being swappable and interchange-able as well. But Blizzard doesn’t like fun apparently.
From my very brief, play around with the legendary system It seems they integrated that sort of system into the legendary effects. But far more limited as you only need 1 for your legendary.

I miss the Artifact weapons from Legion.
The HoA necklace on the other hand can go get dumped in mount doom for all I care.

I don’t miss it at all, but it was better than covenants simply because you could change them. Most people just used bis just like they do now.

If Blizzard ever actually developed a system like that, it’d be cool.
But what invariably happens is that Blizzard suck at tuning, so you’ve got one choice that just dominates in any given situation so it just becomes cookie cutter.
The only HoA trait I ever changed with any regularity was changing a “this does damage to single targets” minor to a “this does aoe damage” minor.

Mines still rotting in the bank with the rest of a bunch of junk. I have all 32 slotters & over half of banks junk. Somedays I think I’ll just throw it all out & start fresh again but then I think it’s pointless & will just happen again.
Anyways, if you miss the heart of Azeroth how much do you miss it? In tangible terms (gold). Perhaps we can come to some sort of a deal here.

I’d personally delete mine if I could but the game won’t let me

HoA is probably top 5 favorite items they’ve ever implemented in the game.
I love it so much because of its power, cosmetics (rank 5 essences look amazing
) and being able to be a unique flavor for whatever class you were playing.
oh and it’s also a necklace, and necklace is my favorite item slot
shadowlands gearing seems like they want all of us to be the exact same

I mean - Artifact power is still there - if you want to keep grinding it.

That thing was pointless for a year. How can you miss that? Those opinions is why retail ain’t doing so hot.

I liked getting to do passives instead of active abilities because I don’t want a bunch of buttons for no reason! But guess who’s back, Kill Shot

Yeah.
At least it didn’t make you choose one of four avenues that determined its abilities and strength, specific to your class and specialization with a 2 week or longer lockout just to change that avenue.
Imagine how insane that would’ve been…

So you missed the end of expansion version, as opposed to the when you first got it.
Check.

It was a nice system, however I really only ever used the three same exact skills without ever changing them. Even for my healer/tank I think I only needed to change one for a single boss fight and that was it… not really ground breaking.

My only regret is that there was no cinematic of us throwing it into the scrapper at the end.
