I have 245 mounts at the moment. And Im only able to use the 4 dragon flight Mounts. Mounts that you can buy from vendors, mounts that drop from rares/treasure satchels etc. Are just a gold/time sink. There is no reason to collect mounts anymore. I recently unlocked the violet proto drake and now there is no reason to use it.
Does anyone else feel this way?

Yeah, can’t wait to flap around on my touring rocket. At least if he’s going fast enough he can regain vigor quickly. I could try spinning, that’s a good trick.
Blizz hasn’t flipped the switch on this likely because dragonriding uses animations that non-DR mounts don’t have and some mounts (like mechanical mounts, mage discs, etc.) aren’t dragons so it doesn’t make sense for them to have dragonriding abilities or otherwise fly like a dragon.
It never made sense for all mounts to have similar flight characteristics but old school flight was just bolted on anyway.
After two more raid tiers Blizz will release a Dragonflight Pathfinder acheev to unlock all this. Be patient…
I want all mounts, including ground mounts, to have these abilties

I mean I guess you can think like that if you have no imagination whatsoever
wouldn’t be hard to change the abilities to be more generalized for non-dragon mounts (like icon, animation, name) while still being the same thing basically

You can use any mount you want. They just can’t fly yet on the dragon isles. Be patient, it’s coming. Probably 10.1
We can use our other mounts in 90% of the rest of the game, so no.
Regular mounts on the dragon isles would completely negate the need for dragonriding at all.
Dragonriding is not a simple toggle and done, even for mounts that uses the same model as the current dragonriding mounts.
If it was, you’d be able to use said dragonriding mounts in old content.
They’ll unlock normal flying I’m guessing, eventually. And then I’ll have the popcorn ready for the multiple threads about how slow it is.

Come and enjoy the zones. I just pull out a good mount and /walk around the zones to truly get a feel for it rather than zooming over them. If that’s not your thing, I’m sad. Have a cookie: 
They should just enable both types of flying at once. There is literally no downside.
It would be fun to have other mounts able to do Dragonriding though. I nominate the Grove Warden.

There was never a NEED in the first place. You don’t want to use the old mounts, don’t. Fly your dragons. Why does it have to be an either/or? Why not both? What could it POSSIBLY hurt?
The ego of these GD dragon gliding trolls is what it would hurt they are so bent out of shape that others either can’t use dragon gliding or just are bored of it and are ready for normal flying.
Im just happy for flight right off the bat…
