I came back to the game after 3 years and was doing the dragon isles.
Now I have these dragon controls whenever I want to fly.
There is no way to get rid of them.
I will have to cancel my subscription if I can’t fly normal again.
Space bar go up in air and then fly.
I don’t see anyway to get rid of it. Why would blizzard do this?
What were the devs thinking?
I just want to fly the old way.
Open your mount-list, look above the mounts picture, there’s a button that I think says Dragonflying if that’s the active one, click on it and a drop-down should pop up with the option to disable dragonflight and swap back - You can throw it on hotbars for when you need to switch fast.
Just to add two things: You have to be at least level 20 to swap back to the old flight style. (Which is annoying, but before the change you’d be on a ground mount until 30, so it’s at least not worse than before.)
In the new TWW zones, you’ll need to complete a pathfinder achievement before you get access to regular flight. Because Blizzard apparently likes to add “friction” to accessibility options.
It’s called Content, Brenda, look it up.
I quit because I can’t fly normal. So I tried it one more time.
I can’t even complete my quests because upward surge does not get you high enough in the air before you start sinking back down to turn in a quest.
I have to fly up high to the rock above me.
Every time you try, you have to let the dragon stamina fly stuff refill. After an hour of trying, I still can’t get to the rock above me to turn in the quest.
There is upward surge and then go forward, but upward surge won’t take you high enough and then when you click go forward it will start sinking down.
What am I missing?
How do I fly high enough to get to the rock?
I figured ok, ill try to do the pathfinder quest so i can go back to normal, but i cant even do the quests.
Skyriding could have some better tweakage, that’s for sure.
Good for open areas. … Not so good when there’s, say, trees… or stalactites… or if one’s suffering the curse of the yellow dot like they’ve been for the past twenty years…
You should have a talent tree for your dragon riding which, among other things, gives you more than 3 charges of your dragon riding ability. It should be accessible in the same place the option to switch flight styles that Sala mentioned.
I am laughing at you but not AT you. This was my reaction as well at first. Glad the others helped. Dragon Isles flying was super hard for me at first.
