I logged into to buy DF but shocked at the vast disparity in spec balance. I don’t know if I should just wait till raids are out and blizzard balance the specs?
I’m afraid I pick a spec and level till 70 and then have to reroll cuz my spec is bottom
I just saw the pre patch dps rankings and Affliction is still doing twice the damage of bottom specs
I know this has to be a troll post because there’s nobody in the right mind can be shocked that blizzard can’t Balance classes/specs

Remember when enhance was almost doing the damage of affliction, so got a 25% nerf to all damage.

Are you talking about the level 60 prepatch raid DPS rankings?
There… isn’t a lot of value in prepatch DPS. Classes will not have those toolkits at level 70.

If you wait until dps specs are balanced you’ll be waiting forever.
Having said that, this is pre-patch right now and the game is no longer balanced around level 60 so the disparity is worse than it will be at 70.
Class/spec balance has been a roller coaster since the game’s inception.
That being said, if you main a hunter that isn’t BM you’re in for a rough time. Honestly I just switched to BM for now as a former MM. Not worth twice the effort for literally bottom of the barrel damage.

It’s comical how Blizzard thinks that the best way to solve the “overperforming class/spec” problem is to nerf it to the ground instead of the more sensible solution of buffing the underperforming specs to be more balanced.
But then again, they might have to change stats of mobs around to compensate, can’t have that, can we?

Oh I was a BM specialist since Classic but was gonna play MM this tier.

Dumpster fire. MM and Surv are the two lowest specs out of ALL dps at the moment. Granted pre patch doesn’t necessarily speak for DF raid performance at level cap, but the signs don’t look good.
BM on the other hand? 3rd highest.
Considering the ammount of class specs we have now its impossible to really balance them all without there being a bottom tier
Looking at dps logs of pre patch instead of beta to determine the viability of a spec is what i would expect from the average IQ of a wow player.
